SLOW SLOW Weight loss

Recommended Posts

Could really use some help with knowing why im not losing this weight?

When were you banded? How much have you lost? What are you eating? Are you getting a lot of Protein in? Do you weigh/measure your food? Are you exercising? Do you drink your Water?

We can't help you without knowing at least some of that. Give us some details maybe we can pinpoint what may be slowing down your loss.

Ok here is the answers. I was banded Dec 09. have only lost 30 pounds. I can eat anything nothing makes me feel full not even after a fill. It only hurts really bad going down no matter how soft or how long i chew it. I eat more than my share of Protein. no i do not have time to measure my food. exercise 3 times a week 30 min. not enough Water.< /p>

Only?

What in the world were you expecting??

You are doing great. Normal weight loss with the band is one to two pounds a week. This is not a quick fix solution. But if you stick with it you will do great!

Only 15lbs? You had surgery 3 weeks ago. The average loss per week is 1-2lbs. You're well ahead of the curve. I too would get frustrated and mad when the scale didn't move as quick as I wanted. The fact is that we didn't put the weight on overnight and we won't lose it in that amount of time either.

At week 3 you're still healing. Give yourself some time, stay off the scale, and stick to the rules and you'll see the results you want.

Maybe make time to track what you're eating each day. Are you eating healthy? Exercise is important too. I workout for an hour, each day. Do you do a lot of cardio? Weight-lifting?

Clearly when I am at a restaurant or at my sister's I don't weight my Protein (though I could becuase she has a better food scale than I do). At home however I always measure; it on takes five seconds so can't see why you would'nt have time.

I wish I had your SLOW weight loss, I have been plateaued for 1.5 weeks (not getting on scale 'til Monday). I really don't see how you consider that slow.

I have to agree, you have done great, I on the other hand I haven't really lost anything since my December 6th surgery, I am very frustrated, just spoke to the dietician today and she says I may not be getting enough calories, going to try to eat a little more, I am getting enough Protein and Water so don't know what else it can be.

Personally I think the low calories is my problem too. Since I started on Purees I've been trying to up my caloric intake, but there is only so much I can do that. I hate to wait, but I may be stuck until I can start regular food in another 1.5 weeks.

I think she meant December 2009.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
