New Year, Better Focus

Recommended Posts

Ok so just getting myself set up for tomorrow. I haven't been on here in a while and I haven't been super focused for a while particularly due to holidays... Halloween- several days of lots of candy... Thanksgiving- a couple days of sweets and food... Christmas/New Years- multiple days on various weeks of bad food and sweets (parties and gatherings). Okay so I admit that I haven't been very good but even with all that, I am now about 7 pounds less then I was this time last year... 20 pounds down in 3 months... since starting this including pre-op. So even though I haven't been great and I haven't lost 30 pounds, I still see myself as a success. Especially with not gaining (like I always do) between October 25 and January 1.

So with all that said, I have gained a new focus for the new year. I'm ready to refocus myself. :D

Thanks for listening and allowing me to express my new dedication to ME!

What a great job you did congratulations that is the hardest time for all of us. I got filled on the 30th my first since surgery a year ago. I too feel renewed and ready to move forward with the coming year. God bless.

I did great over Thanksgiving. I even lost a pound. But Christmas week took me for a spin. I went back to old habits (not completely) and paid for it. Now it's time to get back to business.

I am delighted to know that I have company in the New Year....I, too, gained over Christmas and my practice doesn't give fills from the middle of Dec thru the end of the Holidays, so no fill for me!!! By the time I knew I was in trouble the soonest I could get in is Jan 11th!!! 20 pounds up is no joke but not a reason for my practice to overbook!!!! I will be watching eagerly for support and reinforcement!!! Good luck everyone.

Thanks. Im glad Im not the only one who had difficulty with the holidays. I wish I was banded in like July so I had a few extra months but I was banded in September so holidays came while I was still learning and adjusting. Thats okay though!

WE are ALL back on track for the New Year! Good luck everyone! :D

I got banded on November 10th, so the holidays hit me hard lol. I still lost, but not as much as I could have lost. As you guys know the head hunger gets most of us, so Im taking full responsiablity of what I ate, and not blaming it on other for putting it out there. I went grocery shopping today and feel positive about what I got and to get kicked started into the new year. Biggest loser also starts tomorrow (yes, Im addicted) so I bought their 30 day jump start dvd and plan on doing that daily, and weighing in on tuesdays when it comes on (my moms idea). Maybe actually seeing that progress will help?WHo knows lol.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
