constantly too tight!

Recommended Posts

so, every time I get a fill, I ended up getting unfilled. According to my doc I am very very sensitive. My band snaps shut! I had a fill 8 days ago, a small one. I felt my band tighten and made him take some out immediately. For 3 days I could eat a tiny tiny bit. For 2 days nothing, not even liquids would stay down. Loosened up and could eat (even steak) for 2 days. Yesterday super tight, ate a piece of cheese for Breakfast, then could not even keep liquids down, finally at midnight I was able to eat a bit of food and drink a Vitamin Water. Today everything is coming up, I drink, I have spasms and up it comes.

I'm in pain, I'm miserable. Does this happen to anyone else?

FYI since June I'm down from 231-185......good loss but not enough to live like this.

I am in pain!

Sounds like you shoudn't have it filled at all until things stabilize - or just a tiny bit only and start out slowly again like in the beginning with just liquids and then mushies and remember to eat VERY SLOWLY and chew everything to death. What does your doctor say? You shouldn't be having this much trouble that is for sure. If things are always coming back up I think the band is too full, but definitely go back to your doc until you get it right.

i get to the point that i can eat to much, get a small fill and it snaps shut. I could get .1cc or 1 cc and i have the same result...very very swollen. Has been this way since day 1

Yuck! That sounds miserable! :(

I got a fill last Monday and have been almost too tight since, though I can keep food down, and I know I'm frustrated trying to eat, so I can imagine how you must be feeling dealing with months of that. Is there anything your surgeon can do about it? Could it be the positioning of the band?

Either way, I hope things get easier for you soon.

I have had a similar experience and gone though days and days of pain. I am awake right now at 3:40am because when I lie down I gag and vomit but when I sit up I have constant pain across my lower ribs. The poster who said to empty and start over is probably right. I may do the same thing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
