Those of you with a 10 cc band....

Recommended Posts

How much did it take before you reached maximum restriction? My bariatric surgeon said most people with 10 cc bands hit the sweet spot around 5.75 cc's.

That said I had none at all at 5.5 cc's so he went up to 6 cc's on me yesterday. He thinks I really shouldn't need more for several months.

Thoughts? Have most of you hit your sweet spot before 6?

Im at 5cc's right now. I just got my 2nd fill today, they added 1cc to the 4 cc's i already had. Its only been about six hours but so far i dont notice anything different other than my port is really sore because she had to push around for a while before she got the needle in. She told me pretty much the same thing, that most ppl with a 10cc band dont need more than 6 cc but of course everyone is different. She told me the next fill she will only do .25 to .5 cc so I dunno. i hope I start feeling some restriction soon because right now I feel absolutely none. Good Luck!

Right now I have 5cc in my band and am a bit over filled. I did have 6cc and was fine at that much but suddanly more than 3 weeks after the fill it was too much so I had some removed.

I had 4cc placed in my band during surgery and could eat a whole horse I thought my band was empty.

Sometimes our stomachs cant even make up their own minds

My first fill was 10 days ago and it was 6.4 cc's. I feel some restriction, like if I drink Water to fast, I can feel it for a sec or if I don't chew well enough, I feel it pass, but as long as I chew, no restriction on how much I can eat yet.

I have 4cc's right now. I am feeling some restriction but not alot. I go for my second fill on January 3rd. They are going to add 1cc and we will go from there. My doctor told me anywhere from 6 to 8cc's is the sweet spot.

It's important to remember that everyone is different. Some people (very few) feel restriction without any fills at all, and some need there band filled almost entirely.

There is no magic number that garuntees restriction.

You and your surgeon need to work together to find the level that works for you.

Oh, I wish I could have had that much put in my band on my first fill! They were taking baby steps with me. It took 7 months after surgery to get to 6ccs!

I am 6.8 ccs and have been there since September 16. Lost 15lbs in those 2 months but it has slowed down and I haven't lost any in a few weeks and I noticed I am eating a little more so I will be going in next week for just a little bit. But I was at my sweet spot for 2 months! I am hoping the next one lasts even longer!

OKay maybe this is it for me. I hope!

Last night I had a 1/2 cup of mushy food and I got satisfied off that. I woke up today and I'm not hungry. I had a hard time swallowing my meds. They didn't get stuck but I could feel them going down and thought they might get stuck.

I am very sensitive with fulls. Almost nine months out, I've only had two fills, but have had 5 unfills. I currently have 2.25CC in a 10CC band.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
