December 2010 Bandsters out there?

Doing good. I gotta eat a little less! Gosh why is it so hard? I always justify eating a little bit more. I worked my butt off at the gym this week, I'm down 1 pound so far, Monday's are my official weigh in day, so hopefully one more tomorrow!

I'm trying some variety this week, I got some turkey meatballs, hopefully those are good :)

Anyone have a good satisfying dessert / after dinner snack ideas? I eat around 6, but I stay up pretty late, I usually want something before bed. I've been having oatmeal, but I think I need to scale it back a little. Something 100 cal or under. Has anyone tired the 100 Calorie hostess Snacks. I had them pre-op but haven't tried them now.. I wonder if they'd get stuck? (not having any other stuck problems though). I think that could be a good snack.

I eat bread, toasted though, but it goes down fine, and I have ONE normal size piece, I'm not sure if I could eat a sandwich.. and I've had a little bit of Pasta, but not much (like asian type noodles). I eat quite a bit of crackers.

I mean you can have like a 1/2 a cup of pasta.. thats boring, I'd rather eat something else.

Lordy just got the insurance claim(s) for my surgery.. I think they messed it up and billed me twice :-/ my surgeon is great, but his office staff is so dumb!! Hopefully I can sort it out tomorrow *crossing my fingers*

I have only had one fill and can eat bread and Pasta. I haven't ate sliced bread but toasted breads go down fine. I did however have my first stuck episode Friday. I had a cold coming on but didn't feel bad at all and took two bites of my Breakfast and pain in my chest. I waited a few more hours and tried again and the worse pain ever in my chest and then I vomited. The rest of Friday and all day Saturday I stayed on liquids and Soups. I basically had no restriction until I got this cold, so just a warning if you get sick be very cautious with your foods. I learned the hard way :(

Interesting....thanks for the heads up, just in case this happens to me too!

I am struggling with losing as well. I am eating about 1/3 of what I used to (which is great), but it seems like I go down 4 or 5 pounds, up to where I was, down 1 pound, up 2. Grrr....hoping I get my second fill this Thursday. I am going to Vegas on the 21st with 4 girlfriends and I don't even want to be tempted to overeat.

I really like the dessert flavored yogurts and the yogurt whip. They have 5 grams of Protein and 100 calories or less (for the light).

I had my Dr appointment last week - still no fill. Overall, they are very happy with how much I'm eating and how much I have lost...I also got a good compliment from the PA in the office (who does the fills) - after meeting with me she smiled and said "You don't know how refreshing it is to meet someone who really 'gets' the band and knows how to work it properly. The last person I saw was just absolutely clueless!" That really made my day!:D

Also, with my weigh in this morning I am officially down 40 lbs since I started my pre-op diet and am also down another pants size!!:D :D :D

Congrats!! yes you are doing it right :D you aren't relying on the fills.

I really wish they would explain it better before surgery. I know they just want $$$ but they would have much more success if everyone knew exactly what the band does.

I completely agree with you! I think my doctor's office does a better than average job preparing patients for life after surgery but there is definatley room for improvement. Luckily, I'm one of those people who will research the heck out of any major life change so I was probably better prepared than most and, even then, I still had questions that I could only find the answer for here on LBT. I am so thankful for everyone on here who is willing to share their journeys and answer questions.

Got my second fill today. She put in 1.5cc for a total of 5.5 in a 9cc band. Here's to hoping it helps with hunger between meals. :)

Congratulations!! I was hoping I'd be "that person" like you (the one who can successfully lose weight without fills). BUT, hey reality is...real. LOL. I have maintained my initial post-surgery loss of 17 pounds, but I am truly looking forward to my fill on Friday.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
