Having a C-section and...

Recommended Posts

I had a c section it was not planned but hey it's over and done with but my question is them opening me up do you any of you think it could have messed with my band or port at all or even went near it. I can't feel my port and I have a call in to my surgeon but he has not called back I mean I would just die if something happen to my band due to the c section.

Anyone have a c section and the band?

I had my sections years before banding, but I don't think they go near that area. Of course, anything is possible.

More than likely you are still swollen from surgery and that's why you can't feel the port right now.

You could call your ob/gyn and ask. Or you could call your bariatric surgeon and ask.

I agree with Melissa, I say your still swollen from the csection. I know when I had my baby I was almost to the point of having a csection so the doctor spoke to me about it and I asked him if it would do anything to the band he said nope. But then again I think everyone is different but I can't seeing having a csection messing up your band or port. I would get in touch with ob or surgeron and speak to them about it and get it looked at. Good Luck :) Congrats!!

I was banded in 2007 and had a c-section march 2010 I had no problems at all. I don't see how they go any where near your port. Only thing I had was a little heart burn during and after delivery they allowed me to take Zantac. Hope this helps.

I had my band in April (didnt know I was pregnant at the time) and had a c section 7 weeks ago. All has been fine. I don't see why a section would have anything to do with a band or port, they are working inside the uterus not anywhere else.

I had a planned c-sect in June and had the same concerns as you are having. I talked it over with my Doctor and she talked it over a with a surgeon and he assured her it would not interfere with the band. Congratulations!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
