Have a question about boob loss!

Hello everyone!

This is my first post. I am still pre-approval, but had a plastic surgery constult yesterday and dont know what to think? The surgeon suggested I have a breast reduction and breast lift BEFORE the lapband. That just didnt sound very sensible to me. I am thinking I am going to lose alot of breast volume post lapband and weight loss. So I dont know what size I am going to end up.

What has been your post weight loss breast experiences?

I'd suggest that you wait unless you're experiencing GREAT discomfort - back pain...

My breast have gone from a full C to less than a B cup - thank goodness for padded bras. The girls now look like tube socks w/ a golf ball - not a pretty sight.

I'm scheduled for a TT w/lipo, Dec 22. I'm considering implants and lift but will wait until after the tummy is done to get the full picture as some docs think that I only need a lift, while others agree that implants and lift would work best.

Best of luck w/ your journey.

OH, NO, don't do it.....mine ended up like tube socks, too and I had no volume after losing that 80 plus pounds. I waited til I was at my goal before doing it and can't imgine doing it before the journey began!!!

Best wishes,

Mimi

I've gone from an e to a c cup and gone from having downward facing nipples to upwards facing ones. I've also completely lost all breast volume above the nipple and were I to do anything to my breasts now they'd need total reconstruction WITH implants.

There's no way I could have foreseen this prior to losing so much weight, they've changed totally. Ive personally been very pleased with the reduction in size, having big breasts really doesnt interest me much (having nicely shaped ones does though). However, they've shrunk so much in recent months I've gone to cheating with some of those chicken fillet things, lol. My son was in fits of laughter the other day when I had a nightie on, kind of a big loose thing and I looked entirely flat chested, like a man, sigh.

Definitely wait until AFTER the weight loss.

I went from dd to b. I was going to get a lift with my tuck last month but my doc changed his mind ( he saw my boobs at c size and said I would need a lift when they got smaller but then they changed so much he said I don't need to get a lift anymore)

Luckily for me with some good workouts at the gym my chest has changed so much. My weight loss in my boobs didn't leave them looking like balls in a sock somehow......

My boobs are getting smaller however they've always been horribly uneven (like the left side is probably a C+ and the right side is probably about a :). I like the smaller size of the right side (I hate big boobs...its confusing to me why women want implants...I've always hated big boobs and have always wished for teensy tiny ones) and at some point I will probably get a reduction to even them out and lift them up a little. I'm hoping I will be at goal by this summer so maybe I could get a TT and breast "intervention" (they need an intervention...maybe I could be on that show) before I start shopping for my wedding gown in the fall. Interestingly, my entire left side of my body is a little bigger than the right side. Its really weird.

Your body will change drastically! I would definitely wait. I am almost to goal and just had a TT and breast reduction paid 100% by my insurance and my lap band surgeon still thought I was doing it too early. If you lose more weight, your breasts will sag. Get a 2nd opinion.

Thank you so much everyone! I am so much more reassured I am making the right decision for waiting.

Thanks again

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
