Does anyone have a break down of how much weight you lost after lapband surgery?

Recommended Posts

I wanted to know if anyone had a month to month diary of how much weight was lost on lapband. I also wanted to know if there was anything special you had to do a long with eating right and exercising.:smile2:

Hi:

I just looked it up.

Pre-op (3 months) 37 pounds lost, and then the following numbers in each consecutive month post 14, 15, 11, 9, 3, 9, 9, 6, 12, 3, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4.

The other thing besides eating right and exercising is consistent follow up with your surgeon and attending support groups with fellow bandsters if possible. You need to stay on top of your fills to ensure that you are getting your band adjusted as necessary. In addition, I think it helps to be accountable on their scale as well as my own.

Best wishes to you.

Sue

I have pretty consistently lost 2.5 pounds/week since banding. Some weeks, a bit more, some a bit less. But the average has been 2.5.

I stuck with my doctor's (low-carb) postop regimen even before restriction, so my loss was not slowed by a wait.

I do follow a pretty stringent eating regimen, and exercise daily at least once (usually twice--my dog loves me more if I do).

I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. So that's an average of about 10 pounds a month. Some months were less and some more. You can expect to loose weight fairly quickly at first, and then it slows down as you get closer to goal. Best wishes!

I weigh myself daily and only record when I change weight. I also take my measurements (chest, waist, hips, upper arm, forearm, thigh and calf) every Thursday, I also take front and side pics every Thursday as well and my 'official' weight recording is Thursday's too.

At this point, I'm losing 3-5 pounds per week. Total of 49 pounds since 7/29/10.

I kept track of my weight loss pretty regularly; below shows my progression (I deleted some of the stats so you didn't have to sort through daily weights--but a few months I didn't record it on my ticker).

09/27/2010 - 134

08/15/2010 - 135

07/20/2010 - 143

06/13/2010 - 145

05/12/2010 - 150

04/14/2010 - 159

03/11/2010 - 168

02/04/2010 - 180

11/13/2009 - 191

10/04/2009 - 199

09/04/2009 - 205

07/14/2009 - 208

05/26/2009 - 219

01/04/2009 - 231

12/31/2008 - 246 (day of surgery)

12/01/2008 - 252

I didn't really do anything special, I didn't even exercise that much until I started running in the last few months. Right now I hover around 135, up and down a little day to day. I'd like to get down to 125 eventually, but honestly I'm focused more on improving my running and training for a half marathon than I am on weight loss right now.

holy moly!!!!!! please share any tips you can give! thats amazing!

Here are my tips:

High Protein (at least 60 grams) low carb and low fat.

I workout 5-6 days a week- cardio, 3 days a week weights

I eat in a very structured way- I plan in the morning (or the night before) what I will eat for the day. I also eat around the same times every day.

I eat 5-6 times a day, 3 meals and 2-3 Snacks

I am also just lucky to have a body that responds nicely when I do the right things. I've lost the weight before but never been able to keep it off. This time I have a tool and it will stay off forever!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
