can coughing cause band slip?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! This is a really stupid question, but I had to ask it! I have a cold and a dry cough. It's not hacking, but it's persistant. I read a post on here awhile ago where someone said coughing caused their band to slip? Can this happen? I keep worrying and my friend was like "just ask your forum people!" LOL Thanks for your time guys! Leeanne

The week before and for 2 weeks after I had that same hacking cough. I had the surgery - coughed my head off - and kept on coughing. My doctor did not seemed concerned. I had no problem and have lost 57 lbs.

Yes, it can.

Coughing is a lot more violent to the body than most people realize. My mother broken a bone in her back just coughing.

Your body become a paint shaker, throwing everything around for a split second or two.

nice work on your weight loss Girl55!!! I know exactly what you mean Btrieger. I've had patients crack ribs from a bad cough! I LOVE my band, but sometimes it's frustrating cuz I am so scared to mess it up!

I too had a bad cough about 1 wk post op. I was scared to death it would slip everytime I coughed. When I went for my first fill I kept thinking, they're going to find it's slipped and I can't get a fill. Thankfully all was well!

I worry since I'm self pay...but now a little over 3 months post op, I don't worry much at all.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
