Recommended Posts

I HAVENT BEEN BANDED YET ...iM WAITING NOW FOR A DATE NOW . I ALSO HAVE PCOS. I DID CONCEIVE A CHILD 6 YEARS AGO , MY ONLY ONE WITH METIFORIM . I AM NOW THE MOST WEIGHT I HAVE EVER BEEN AND WOULD LOVE TO GET PREGNANT . HOWEVER I FEEL THAT TAKING THE WEIGHT OFF IS WHAT I NEED MOST OF ALL. THE PROBLEM IS IM NOW GOING TO BE 41 IN MARCH AND FEEL THAT I WOULD NEED TO GET PREGNANT IN ATLEAST 6 MONTHS AFTER THE LAP BAND . I COULDNT WAIT ANY LONGER THEN THAT ....IS THIS POSSIBLE OR SHOULD I WAIT TO BE BANDED

I'd get banded first because weight is a huge factor, and as I've read from the enteries above, when you loose a large amount of weight sometimes ovulation picks up on it's won. So i'd get banded first and take some of the weight off, and see what happens. Due to your "advanced" age I'd tak to a fertility specialist or well knowlegeable obgyn. Who knows maybe some low tech procedures and the weight loss is all it would take? I'm 30, and never been pregnant got diagnosed at 28 with PCOS, and I'm hoping that with more weight loss my body will ovulate and I might get pregnant with just a night alone with hubby, or some low tech IUI. Best of luck to you.

How many of yall have gotten pregnant and have PCOS? I am having fasting blood work done next week to check all of my levels since losing around 50 pounds. My husband and I are wanting to get pregnant' date=' and I have PCOS. Although I haven't had a cyst in a long time, I still do have some abnormal hair growth (not as bad as it used to be), and I don't know what my bloodwork will look like. Although for the past couple of years, my blood sugar has been fine, but my insulin has been up a little bit. Any stories would be great!![/quote']

In response to the question about the hair in relation to the PCOS. When the insulin resistance is high dark hair and abnormal growth(ie: male pattern) increases. They say that as you loose weight and get your suggars in control with diet, exercise and for many metformin. the Hair growth in odd places does slow down. I have noticed after being on meformin for a while now that my hair in odd places is not as prevelant. It does not grow as fast either so i need to pluck less, but the hair still does grow in on the chin, just not other od places like the boobs. So hope this helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
