NSV - My closets are almost empty

Recommended Posts

I recently decided if I tried something on and it was too big, I would put it in a bag and not back in the closet. As I was getting ready for work this morning, I realized I had very little to choose from. Guess, I'm going to have to do a little shopping. :smile2:

Seems like I've always been obsessed with that number on the scale (which moves very slowly downward), but now I beginning to see physical changes as well. I love my band!

That is great! I just gave 4 bags of clothes to my sister. We went shopping for some new ones. I was excited to fit into some petite 6's.

I need to start cleaning out my closet. Maybe this weekend.

I have been holding off buying new stuff becuase I'm a "consultant" and I currently work from home. If I get an onsite gig I will have to buy stuff that fits.

I've always been a Yo-Yo dieter, so I've always kept my larger sized clothes knowing I would eventually get back into them. But I can tell this time is different, I feel different, my attitude is different, my mindset is different. So those larger sized clothes no longer have a place in my life and I've already thrown some out and given some away. It feels great to not look back anymore.

I was also a yo-yo dieter and had multiple sizes in my closet. It's great to know we will never need those bigger sizes anymore. It also makes it much easier to pull them out of the closet for good!

Last night I came to the realization that I need new clothes. I am still losing - down 40lbs, my clothes are hanging on me. I'm a nurse - so wear scrubs during the day - don't notice the weight loss much, its amazing how the scrubs hide it. I had changed into some shorts and tshirt to attend a meeting for my daughter - saw myself in the mirror and was alittle shocked - my shorts and tshirt were so baggy they looked awful. I'm trying to hold off until the weather changes before buying more clothing - live in North Texas & we are still having 90+ degree days. Even tho my clothes looked awful - I'm loving the weight loss!

Congratulations!!! It's such a great feeling!!! I recently went form being able to wear blue jeans everyday at work to business casual, so I had to buy some new things. I have found a lot of new things at Sears in my area. I bought 3 shirts and a pair of pants for $29 this week. I don't want to spend a ton of money because I am still losing. I have found that tailoring is kind of expensive. Keep the momentum! :0)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
