Favorite foods since being banded?

Since you've been banded what are your favorite foods to eat now since your diets have changed?

Mine is baked cod with twice baked taters made the low fat way. I also crave beans lol. I could eat them everyday and be a happy camper. I never really was a bean person but now I like them. Weird .

So what are your favorite foods?

I eat steak. I was told I may not be able to, but if I can then it's okay! I don't eat it often. Maybe once every couple of weeks. I eat it medium-well, with heinz 57 or a-1 sauce. And I chew, chew, chew the heck out of it and I eat it very slowly.

home made turkey taco Soup

Sounds good!!! Would love the recipe...

I make this too but instead of adding Water I don't drain the beans(except black beans) and I use canned corn and don't drain. I also vary my Beans, kidney, pinto, chili whatever. And top with cheese and sour cream. Fat Free as necessary. It's a family favorite.

I drain and rinse beans to cut back on the sodium. I also use low sodium taco seasoning. Not only is this more healthy (IMO) my husband has issues with hypertension. I've tried buying the no salt versions of beans, I don't like them as well.

My nutritionist wanted me to cut the corn out completely. I'm compromising by cutting back.

It's such a versatile and forgiving recipe.

I take the basic recipe and tweak it a bit and make taco flavored meatloaf. Wonderful too.

I eat steak, but I make sure it's very tender and not overcooked. The little bacon wrapped fillets that you can buy in the grocery store are a BIG plenty.. sometimes I get two meals out of them.

ICECREAM ! just kidding!

I'm with the Wendy's chili crowd ... yum.

lololololol

Even though I'm only 6 1/2 weeks out with 1 fill, a chicken leg quarter takes care of me alllllllllllll day!

I'm sure when I get another fill, it will be much less! I mean I hope it will be less! I mean it better be less!

The first time I had it, I felt like I had died and gone to heaven.

I am truley carnivorous:wub:

Please share the chili recipe or give me the link to find it. However, that may make it way too convenient, but I will have to exercise more self-control. Put my skills to good use.

funny, when I got to the turkey taco soup statement I left the board and googled it until I found a recipe. If I had just scrolled down I would have found it! Love the idea and will be making this ASAP. This board is making me hungry tonight. Yummy and healty options!!!

Woe this was the wrong thread to read while on my clear liquid diet before surgery. My belly was already growling from my hubbies dinner and now this....

It all sounds so good.

White Chicken Chili

It's very good. First time I made it my son (who is NOT banded) was mad that I didn't make a double batch!! I'm like.. gee son, we've never had this before, do you think I'm going to risk making huge amount of something we might not like?? ROFL

No, the Wendy's chili recipe, but thanks.

Boston Market's chicken tortilla soup... I don't like chili  although that seems to be very popular for most.
