Is there anyone out there who's band restriction fluxuates all the time throughout the month?

Example: Monday I can eat a lot and eat almost anything (rice, bread, Pasta, etc) but then Tuesday I can slam shut and only eat soft or easily broken down foods...then Wednesday I may only be able to drink liquids.

Just can't figure this thing out even after all these years. Fill then unfill...PBs all the time then pigout a day later????

Can anyone relate?

Its like that for me. I was hoping I would figure it out, since it's only been 6 months since surgery. Now I'm not so sure!

I have noticed if I overeat one day I can barely eat the next, so I like that a bit. Keeps me in check.

Yeah...that's how I ended up with an overfill. My band fluctuated from day to day and it was a royal pain in the behind. I'm not sure what you do long term except eat as the band lets you. On those days where you have no restriction, assuming it's a temporary thing, hold on to your self-control and wait it out. That's what I'm going to do this time around rather than go in for a fill...and end up with too tight of a band all the time.

Mine is like that as well. I've just learned to live with it and eat until I am satisfied. Be it a 6" sandwich from Subway or 2 boneless buffalo wings from Buffalo Wild Wings.

You are not alone. I ate 3 frozen mini bagel bites (They smelled soooo good) with no problem. Then, another day I am PB with my Protein Shake. I too feel full for days at a time and then other times can shovel it in. .....

I read somewhere that you can get swollen from a PB or from overeating and that's why we have fluctuations in restriction - that it is swelling driven. But I also have seen people talking about increased restriction during their periods and things like that.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I was beginning to think I was some rare case. My doctor told me that the band responds to hormone changes and that's why right before and during my period I can barely eat anything and then by the end, I can eat like a pig! It's just really hard to keep my control after starving for days on end. So like when I can eat...I EAT! I'm also on BC pill and that is a hormone...was curious if that had anything to do with it. It's just making it really hard to take my last 30lbs off because I will lose 5-6lbs but then I put it right back on beccause I pigout after starving. Ughhh! If I had self control I wouldn't be in this situation in the first place! Guess I gotta just deal with it and try really hard to control myself on the days I can eat a lot!

Thanks for everyone's feedback!

I have not had a fill yet but notice the tightness of my band really fluctuates with my menstral cycles and emotions. When I am stressed or upset I get tight. Right now I am a week from my cycle and I have a full feeling 24-7

I have the exact same problem, it is so fustrating. There are days that I can't eat anything and some days I can eat a bit more. I only have 2cc's in a 10cc band and I have so much restriction, the only thing that goes down find is liquids.< /p>

:eek:same!!!! Started my period 2 days ago and this is my first decent amount of fluids I've managed to get down. Have been trying not to stress too much about it as that REALLY jams everything shut. Where would we be without the web huh? lol Imagine if we all had to fester & worry without having access to resources like these forums

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
