Hey I'm Kinda in the same boat sleepwise. last night was about 4 hours of sleep. I haven't had problems drinking. I've been doing Water, Broth, Jello, Popcicles, and liquid Protein shots mixed in the water. regular protein shakes are a little too rough on me right now. But be assured I'm right with you.

I was also banded yesterday and am still on clear liquids for 2 more days & then full liquids. Some pain, mostly from gas I think. Good to get feed back from others who are going thru the same thing. Thanks!

It will definitely get better. I was banded on the 25th and today I have felt so much better.

Hi all, thanks for feedback, I actually slept 7 hours last night and didn't need help getting out of bed. Progress is being made! But when I drink anything the only position I'm realtively comfortable in is erect - gotta stand and walk because I get these horrible pains. Cridlon mentioned protein shots - what are they? Maybe they'd be easier on me too..:)

Hi Cridlon, I'm new to posting, but I was wondering what protein shots are? I'm doing my protein shake with water and I get much worse through the day...

I am new here kind of feel out of place most of u have had the surgery.

Only 2 days ago. Trust us we have all been there.

Protein shots are a clear fruit flavored liquid protein shot sold at Costco, Walmart and other stores. The shot is a little less then 3 oz and has around 30 grams of protein. Here is a link. You can SIP them straight of add to water.

thanks for your support god bless your recovery

I did'nt really have trouble sleeping the first few days. My bigger issue was having to get up to pee; being as I was on liquid diet.

did u sleep in a bed the first night?

Hello all...I have not had my surgery yet (it is Thursday!), but I had some surgery last summer. I had difficulty swallowing because of the intubation (SP?). That could be a reason for the swallowing irritation. Good luck to everyone! I will join you this week!

Hey...you will be sore as you will be swollen and the swelling around your upper stomach with the band will restrict the liquids for about a week, hence the need for clear liquids post op...once the post op swelling goes down you should be ok but it would be no harm mentioning to your doctor / nurse. Gas pain from the operation can also happen for a few days, it does get better :)
