  2. Thank you for your post. It is very encouraging to me as I am only 16 months out and have lost 139lbs and still have 25lbs to go. It is good to hear from people with long term success as that is my goal. Congrats on your fabulous journey and thanks again for sharing it!

  4. Very Very happy with my band. I hit onderland this am for the first time in 18yrs. I was banded 8-26-10 and I am down 137lbs with about 28lbs to go. It has been hard work but so worth it!!
  5. I was banded 8-27-10 and I have lost 132lbs. I was a tight 28/26 pant and a 3XL/4XL shirt. I am currently in a 14 pants and a L/XL shirt (depending on the syle). VERY HAPPY with my decision to have a lapband!
  6. I can only eat chicken breast if it is canned or moist (such as with honey mustard/BBQ). If my hub grills, he only grills mine a very short time & then I bake it covered in some type of liquid. TUNA is a huge problem for me unless it is in so much mayo that it's disgusting! So.... I pretty much do not eat it ever. Anyway hope that helps. I have lost 125lbs so I guess I can live with out tuna! LOL
  7. For what it's worth, I was banded 8-26-10 and am down 120lbs as of 7-5-11. This includes lbs lost from 8-18-10 (preop & highest weight of 336lbs). I have 6cc's in a 10cc band according to MD's office. I exercise 4-5x's a week but not anything real fancy. Just 2 Jazzercise classes a week & walk 45min-1hr the rest of the time. I do write down what I eat mainly for protein content as I am experiencing hair loss. I do have approx. 46lbs to go as my goal is about 170 as I am 5' 11" tall. When I do track calories it falls between 800-1200 per day. I am very happy with these results as I was a tight 26/28 and am currently a sl. loose 16. Good luck to everyone here and reading these forums have been cruical to my success. So thanks to all who have shared their experiences.
  8. Please do not get discouraged. I was banded 8-26-11 and I started with 170lbs to lose. Just focus on one day at a time. Come to these boards for encouragement from others. That has helped me alot and I know that is a big reason I have lost 85lbs. The input of my fellow banders has been so good! I live to far away to go to support group often so this has been a lifesaver for me. YOU can do this!!! Sending loads of encouragement your way!
  9. Has anyone ever tried the Wii Zumba? Is it a good workout? Or are they talking about another kind of Zumba disk? Thanks for any info.
  10. Sorry I noticed that I said Nov. 2010 & meant Nov. 2009!! Sorry!
  11. If your employer chose not to include that covered benefit you would need to appeal to your HR department as they are the one making this choice. (I am not sure if that is your case) I know this because my husband"s employer dropped the benefit in Jan 2010. I had already started the 6 month supervised diet & attended a seminar in Nov. 2010. There was nothing in the info they gave us saying they were going to drop the benefit. I spoke to the HR person and filed an appeal with them (including my PCP supervises diet visits, the seminar I attended, a personal letter from my PCP stating medical necessity, co-morbidites, ect, and brief resource notes off the inernet regarding WLS). It was a long shot but I actually won!! After I picked myself up off the floor, I scheduled surgery and had it 8/26/10!! So I would at least try. SOrry for the long post but if it helps someone else it would be worth it. I have eight kids and could not have done self pay.
  12. I was banded 8-26-10 and do not feel hunger yet. I did have a hiatel hernia repair also so maybe that causes more swelling? Anyway I have lurked on this site for about 9 months and am grateful for the experiences of others as they have let me know all the options to expect. SO I am expecting "Bandster Hell" if it occurs. Thanks to you all for sharing your experience.
  13. I was also banded yesterday and am still on clear liquids for 2 more days & then full liquids. Some pain, mostly from gas I think. Good to get feed back from others who are going thru the same thing. Thanks!
  14. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow! I am also being banded tomorrow. I am nervous but excited to start this journey. I will say a prayer for you as well.
