So last Monday I got a whopper of a second fil (2.5cc) in addition to my first fill of 3 ccs.

I was tight! did the liquids then mushies. Then started getting horribly stuck on EVERYTHING. I figured I was too tight. Waited a week. As of Tuesday, I was still stuck and pb'ing on things. S I pt myself back on liquids....

Did liquids most of yesterday. Attempted to eat a normal dinner and surprise surprise. I could eat even very soft meat.

I had made an appt to get a little fill taken out, but maybe now I should just stay here. I'm eating small meals and not feeling hungry.

I think maybe I was swollen from being stuck and pb'ing....

is this a normal learning curve? or should I cancel my appt....unsure of what to do. And my doc is not in until tomorrow afternoon when my appt was scheduled....

Sounds like you made the right decision.

Fills CAN cause temporary swelling, pbing CAN cause temporary swelling, being stuck will cause swelling and I've always found that the best course of action is to go on liquids for a couple of days and then avoid making the same mistake again....

Walking, stretching and generally moving around seems to help move stuck things. Also pineapple juice and Papaya Extract tablets seem to help it to move too.

Good luck with your journey :-)

If you are eating small meals and not getting hungry too much between meals, you should stay right there for awhile.

When I am stuck/pbing, I cant swallow my own saliva. how do you get tablets or juice down and stay down?

Stay there. I am often swollen right after fill and then it loosens a bit too. Good Luck

If you can eat small amounts of real food, then stay where you are. If you can only do liquids/mushies, then go get a slight unfill.

crazy question, but are you on your time of month? I have found twice now that while i'm ON i am so tight, i can hardly eat anything and the pbing and slime are horrible so that i don't even want to eat. But then low and behold it just gets better when im over. I was in the same boat thinking of a slight unfill, but just held out and now today i feel much better.

Thank you SO MUCH for this thread. I had a fill last Monday and have gotten stuck on just about everything since. I have been so incredibly depressed because I can't keep anything down. (Though the weight has just FALLEN OFF this week, so there's something to be thankful for!)

I was thinking about going to get some solution taken out, because I don't want to damage anything by PBing all the time, but it IS getting better. But only slightly.

I think my problem is that I didn't have a lot of restriction before, so I had no idea what I was up against when I DID have restriction. I also went back to solid foods too fast - my doctor says a day of clear, a day of full liquids, a day of mushies, and then regular. I think I should have done two of everything instead.

I didn't really think about the fact that I could be making myself even more swollen - that would explain why they say to go back to liquids after you vomit... I just didn't know that included a PB. Is that right?

In your shoes, I'd probably try to wait it out. It sounds as though you might have pushed with food a little sooner than the post-fill swelling permitted, and aggravated things a bit---but that it's now calming down.

If you're getting plenty of Fluid, and food is getting easier, it won't hurt to give it a few more days.

OTOH, if this feels "wrong" to you, it's likely wrong--and you should listen to your body.

Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
