August Rush in bandland!

I hope its ok that I started this thread over on the post-op side! Just wanted to check in to see how those who have been banded are doing?

Im 5 days post op and Im HUNGRY. This all liquid business is really getting annoying. I think Im dehydrated too but Im going in to see my doctor today just to make sure everything is ok. I was feeling nauseous and still running a low grade fever. I talked with the doc last night and she said she didn't seem too worried about it but wanted me to come in today just to followup. Im going to ask her about starting some applesauce, pudding or thinned out cream of wheat. I need something more solid in my stomach.

To top everything else off- Im having female issues and bathroom issues. I started my period a week early 3 days before surgery even though Im on the pill and technically not supposed to start until this week. And I have a yeast infection from the antibiotics I got in the hospital. And then with nothing but liquids coming out I have a hemorrhoid. SHOOT ME NOW.

And the worst was last night when I was taking care of some lady business and was trying to be real gentle with my insicions so I didnt stretch too much and hurt them- well I got the MOTHER of all cramps in my lower abdomen (down below my belly button) that would not go away. I was in EXCRUCIATING pain and it hurt so bad that I really thought I was going to black out from the pain. After what seemed like 10 years (but really only 30 secs) things started getting better. But I called my husband upstairs and had him lay down iwth me just to make sure I wasnt going to pass out.

Anyways, after last night Im glad Im going in to see the doctor. I think I need to get some gatorade to drink because im probably dehydrated but just want to check with her to make sure its ok. And hopeing she will clear me to eat a little something. Im tired of feeling so weak and tired all the time.

I think I might have hit my sweet spot after the second fill. I can only eat around 1/2 - 3/4 cup of food, and I'm not hungry for hours on end. My normal 3 to 4 PM hunger that I had, is now gone. I'm going any where from 4 to 5 hours between meals, and even then I'm really only eating because I know that I need to. The thought of food was not appealing at all. I thought maybe it was because I was swollen, but I'm beginning to think that it has more to do with actually being restricted.

I've also noticed that a full sensation that I get is my chest tightening up. I don't want to get to that spot at all.

Amanda and Bunny - I can't wait to see a 1 in front. I was ecstatic to see a 2 instead of a 3.

Just had my 1st fill, 3.5cc's. Waiting to see what my restriction will be!!!

I know that Im not eating as much as I used to pre-op but Im still eating more than what I should. And Im not counting calories either- Im trying to stick to low carb/high protein. But there are days when I give in to temptation and have a carb fest. AGH.

I also have NO issues with food going down. Im not even that careful about chewing up food up carefully which I know will change once I get good restriction. But seriously right now I really feel like I did pre-band. And Im pretty discouraged.

I hope I get that feeling on my second fill in 7 days!

Going in for my 3rd fill today! I am hoping to get the restriction at this point. I have 3 cc's in my band now, and I "hope" I get 2 more. I do not have much restriction at all and I'm hungry all the time. I am really watching what I am eating and I eat small portions, even though I am getting full. I have been working out 3x a week at least and walking as much as possible. I was nervous at my last fill because I had dropped 6 lbs and I thought they were not going to give me a fill. My doctor's office is not like that. She said, are you still hungry, then you get a fill. I am HOPING to get to my sweet spot after today's fill and start really seeing some results!

Best of luck to everyone!

Okay I put this in a separate post also but I changed things up yesterday.

I ate MORE calories than normal, really pushed the water, stayed away from the salt AND did 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Today I am FINALLY at 199!! So excited! Now I need to work on getting to 180 next.

I am right there with ya sister. I am getting my first fill Friday and I am hoping for at least 3CCs. I have been trying really hard to stay on track but it is literally just like before. I am so worried sometimes. I mean, what if it doesn't work for me?

Way to go spoiltmom! Can't wait for that day myself!

Well I had been at 231 for about 7 days and was getting a little frustrated! This morning I stepped on the scale and was down two pounds! yeah me!!!!:tongue2:

Some days I do 1200 calories and some days I'm up to 1500. I tried to do induction for Atkin's, but just couldn't. So back to the old calorie counting. I like the variety I have with counting calories. By the way weightwatchers has these ice cream bars out that are only 130 calories....they are cookies and cream and then have a cookie crumb outside yum yum!

One week I get my second fill, and I will be happy, not to think about food all the time!

Well off for my morning walk!:crying:

Welcome Mary!

Hello Mary!

Been stuck at 294 for a week  I was so excited that I finally got to a weight starting with a 2, but now i wanna be excited at going in the 280's! lol

Don't get me wrong, i'm ecstatic about being down 70 pounds (50 has been from start of my preop liquids to now and 20 before pre-op liquids.)!

I started a workout regimen yesterday and my husband and i committed ourselves to follow thru with it for the 6 week cycle

I have not had a fill yet since my doctor was pleased with my intial weightloss and i agreed to wait on the fill so i could see how far i could get! I see him in two weeks for a potential first fill which will be a little over 2 months post op!

All in all i'm doing well, but stuck at 294 just for now and hopefully not much longer!!!!!!!!
