Hello everyone!

I am scheduled for 8/26/10 with pre-op tomorrow. I have never been so ready for anything. I have that "get 'er done" mentallity right now. I am sick of the shakes cause I had to do 3 weeks of them since my BMI is so high. Better safe than sorry though. Just call me Sponge Bob cause I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready......

Tomorrow is the DAY!! I am excited, and nervous too. Been on pre-op for 12 days... Its been pretty hard.. had a few crackers and one day actually had a piece of extra crispy bacon. I think I've lost about 12 pounds total.. I didn't weigh myself on my home scale before my pre-op diet, but based on my weight at the dr office and my weight on my scale now, its about 12pds. SO I'm going with that, Surgery is at 8:30, have to check in at 6:30AM. Went grocery shopping today to get some stuff I can eat in the next 2 weeks. I will try to post tomorrow when I'm all settled down. Wish me luck.. C U all on the POST-SIDE:thumbup:

Good luck to all of you that are being banded this week. I'm loving my band. Love it! Love it! Love it!

I did wonder what in the world I had done to myself the first couple of days, but I'm so glad that I had it done.

Mine is tomorrow morning. A little nervous, but more excited I think. It feels like Christmas Eve, where you think Santa is going to leave you a chunk of coal but you're really hoping for that sweet new ride rider BB gun....Fingers crossed...:)

So how are all the banded folks doing?? I am doing pretty good. I am still having some pains where my port is. The area is a little numb still, nerves that must have been cut during surgery, I'm sure. But still sore when I try to bend over but nothing I can't deal with.

I am still on mushies and just decided to treat myself with Peanut Butter and it gave me indigestion so I guess no more for me.

I see my doc on thursday but I think it's just post op and no fill for another 2 weeks but we'll see.

Love to hear how everyone else is doing.

Hi Diane, I have had my band exactly one week today. I am starting to feel much better less gas and am trying to eat more. Mostly liquid diet but am not very hungry which is good. I was weak for a while lack of Protein Shakes and fluids I guess. But it is getting easier. Stitches still a littles sore but not too bad. I see my Dr. this Thurs will let y'all know what he says. Take care and good luck to all Aug Rushers banded or waiting. It is soo gonna be worth it.

Hey Diane,

I'm doing great , will start mushies in about 2 days.

The liquid diet passed by in a breeze didn't really think about it much because I was not hungry, can't wait to move on though.

Most of us that have been banded already are in the August rush in bandland thread.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
