Can I starve the children?

Recommended Posts

OMG - on day 7 of 14-day liquid diet.... have to go to the grocery store now to pick up the groceries and I don't want to go.... preparing food for my kids is like TORTURE. I might be able to do the liquid thing more easily if I was left alone - but help..... to make matters worse, my husband, who is a chef and normally feeds everyone, will be away for work this week - which means not only do I have to further develop my love of Protein Shakes, but I have to make the kids 3 meals a day.... too bad they are too little to feed themselves - HAHA.

The kids will probably lose weight while I won't drop a pound....

I'm not going to lie. It sucked the big one having to prepare these delicious meals for my family while sitting down to a bowl of hot flavored water for myself. For b-fast, my daughter subsisted on yogurt, bananas and fruit cups (fruit packed in juice). For lunch, it was turkey hotdogs or grilled cheese. She's 2.5 and didn't complain.

They're your kids. You should be able to starve them if you want.

You could always cook them food that you don't like.

That's what I do!!! Waiting on insurance approval and during the dieting over the past couple of months our "snack" foods have changed a lot in the house... only minor complaints. nothing prepackaged other than animal crackers. Mostly cheese sticks and carrots and dip for Snacks. Making meals I'm not in love with so there's no temptation for too much... and they don't love them either so nobody's asking for 2nds! So I don't have to make as much. We're actually saving money on groceries as a family right now too, and nobody is starving. I figure they get plenty of junk food at grandma and grandpa's, friends, and day camp. They can eat healthy at home.

Your post title is so funny!

Can you serve them stuff you don't like? I did this for my husband (of course it was all stuff he liked though) but it turned my stomach. The Protein shakes were pretty good in comparrision?

For kids I'm thinking spagehtios and canned ravioli -- of course they are not the best meal choice for kiddos but most kids love that kind of stuff and you would have to pay me big time to eat it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
