Is there anyone else out here that just could not what so ever meet the Protein requirements ? These Protein Shakes are nasty and I just can't drink as much as they as me too and frankly after 8 days I am soo sick of them. I am completely starving and dont know what to do  i am eating the Jello and pops and nothing is helping! I was banded on July 1st

I was also banded on July 1st. You need the Protein to heal, so if you arent drinking the shakes, then get some whey Protein powder and add it into milk, or pudding or something....what kind of shakes are you using?? I like the EAS shakes a lot, especially the strawberry. the other thing I tried yesterday was :

in a blender, pour 1 eas or Atkins shake, cut up one sf fudgsicle, a scoop of vanilla Protein Powder, and a couple od tablespoons of Peanut Butter....YYYUUUM!!

there are also Protein waters that are good, like the Isopure waters...you should check out your local GNC, or health food store...I like the special k Water add ins..they add 5 grams of protein, but I am drinking the shakes so I dont need a super high protein water.....

what about cottage cheese, or Soups?? I found a black bean Soup mix that is 16 grams of protein per serving (havent tried it yet) cottage cheese is great protein, and considered on the full liquid diet...

hang in there!!!

I am super super picky thats my problem... I tried EAS i didnt care for them, i tried about 3 other types and finally got unflavored powder and mixed it with diet snapple but i can only get 2 in a day which is 40g of Protein. I dont like cheese, but am drinking chicken broth which has a small amount of protein, i am just so frustrated when i try to just deal with the protein i want to vomit.. have you tried the protein Water is it good ?

I sometimes buy the grape frost Isopure Protein Drinks and mix it with lemonade. It's better that way. I haven't tried the other isopure drinks. I also use unflavored Protein powder and mix it with my regular foods.

I like the IDS banana flavor Protein powder. I mix it with 1% milk and some ice. Taste like a banana shake to me. It took me a little while to find one that I like. Keep searching, you'll find something eventually that you can tolerate.

We have a place here in WA called Vitalady that sells supplements for WLS patients. We can go in there and try anything Protein drinks she sells. Really nice to be able to do that. Maybe if you call around you may find some place that will let you do that. Seems like real good business sense to me.

I too was picky and found some protien shots at The Vitamin Shoppe. They have either a 26g or a 42g version in different flavors. You can drink them in about two swallows and your protien is in...Hope this Helps

I've tried a bunch of different shakes and find that powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury has one of the best chocolate flavors available. Very tasty and quite enjoyable. AND you get 20gm of protien per shake. They offer several different types and are easily available from their own website. And there is no sugar in any of them.

My favorite way to prep the shake is using a bullet blender that comes with several cups that you can mix directly in... fill the cup half full with ice, add 8 ounces of skim milk, add 1 scoop of protien powder and blend it for about a minute. It comes out thick and chocolately and satisfies me for upto 4 hours. If you are recenly banded you can use less ice to make it thinner and easier to swallow.

I am also an EAS low carb pre-made junkie. I like the vanilla and the chocolate. They taste nothing like nasty Protein Shakes. Though this week I have been making my own to see if it would save money and it has. I got a whole container of the Jillian Michaels vanilla whey Protein powder and I mix one scoop with 1 cup of vanila soy milk and its amazing flavor. I usually throw a banana in there for extra flavor but I didn't need it, it was great on its own. I prefer soy over regular milk (less lactose issues). I won't ever drink a glass of soy milk (yuck) but love it mixed in something or when I used to be able to eat Cereal. It also lasts for months compared to a week or two with regular milk.

I was banded on March 22, 2010. I have also had a difficult time finding a Protein I can tolerate. I tried Special K Protein Shakes and I really like them. I blend a small banana with a chocolate shake and 3 ice cubes, it tastes amazing. 1/2 banana with 2-3 stawberries in a vanilla shakeand 3 ice cubes taste great, too.

I buy the Inspire Protein powder from Bariatric Advantage. They taste ok but it is only 4 oz's for 30 grams of protein. I figure I can choke that down in a few swigs so it isn't that bad. I've tried others but they want 8 oz's and that was too much for me at one time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
