How much at first fill

Recommended Posts

Hi. I am not sure how to do a survey so if you could reply with your answers that would be great. A member of my PreBand Class had their first fill last week. They gave him 5cc and he had a horrible reaction. He ended up at the ER (of the hospital where the surgery was done) and had to have an emergency unfill. Due to the internal trauma he now needs to wait until August for a refill. Doesn't this seem like a huge first fill? How much was your first fill?

Wow that's not good :(..

I had 3cc's put in my band ..6 weeks after surgery.. don't feel anything yet ..but I'm not upset because I get to go back on June 23rd for my 2nd fill..

I think slower is better..

My first fill I got nothing, on my second fill I had 2 cc's. It does seem like a lot however, with that said, everyone is different. I have heard of some having way too much and having to have it backed off. Hope he is well.

Laura - that sounds funny-------> how did you get a "fill" the first time if you "got nothing"? :) just curious. best wishes on your journey.....:sigh:

My first fill was 1cc, but I do have a small band. That's the most my surgeon's office does, I believe. The second was was also 1cc and I didn't have as bad an issue as your acquaintance, but did get some taken out after that.

My first adjustment was on Monday of this week. When the band was placed it had 2 CC in it. On Monday, my first fill was an additional 6 CC. Total of 8 CC in a 14 CC band.

I feel wonderful. When they first put it in I could feel it choking the stomach but the feeling passed quickly.

I wake up and the band is snug so my Breakfast is small but adequate. As my day goes it it loosens up so my lunch is a little bigger.

No problems at all. I was amazed at the amount they put in but it seems to be just right for me at this time.

I have a lot to lose, about 160 lbs more so my surgeon is taking a fast approach to getting me to the green zone.

I would wonder how his fill was done, Did the Doctor use fluro? Because I don't get fluro with my fills because the fill center I use doesn't have one so the Doctor has to go by my judgement of what feels like restriction without being to tight. I did over do it once and was very sick from it not to be gross but I couldn't even swallow my own salava :scared2:I can't ever remember feeling so terrible and I got a slight unfil the next day and all was well. The reason I point this out is because if he's not getting the fluro the Doctor can only go by what we tell them and it's still hard for me to tell sometimes so now I just get small fills after that bad one I just walk on the side of caution. Hope all turns out well for your friend.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
