Shrinking violets- part 6!!!

Recommended Posts

Am going to my first aqua aerobics class of the session this morning! Oddly, I am looking forward to it!

Then, it's another of life's milestones this afternoon -- I'm taking ds to get his driver's learner's permit! :cursing:

How is that possible? I swear I could turn around right now and he'd be standing there at age 4 in his dinosaur pj's w/his cowboy hat & boots on, grinning his big toothy grin...

Or when I read about Laura & Haydee getting the rooms ready... seriously, that seems like it was me a week ago!

Time is SO WEIRD!

Life is so bittersweet.

Janie, I don't know what to say, because I'm in the same boat... a low-riding boat, lol!... But, I figure it's not over as long as I keep trying and don't give up hope... so keep trying! Don't give up hope! ((Janie))

Ooh michelle! Driving already! What a big milestone! And you're right, time does fly. I need to learn to slow down and enjoy each day because before I know it my little baby will be all grown up! I feel like I'm always living for tomorrow or next week. I'm never present. I need to quit doing that! Wishing your son good luck today! And have fun at aqua aerobics. Those were always my favorite work outs too...

Pam, I stayed up late watching the jersey reunion show. OMG what craziness between theresa and danielle! They were saying danielle wasn't coming back next season but then there would be no drama! What's the point of that!? Lol. Have a great day at school today...

Judy! Sending you get well quick vibes! That sucks that you're in so much pain. I hope you start to feel better soon. How's Kris's back doing?

Jane, I'm in the same boat. Well right now I'm not attempting to diet but I just can't figure out why I can't get committed and motivated enough to keep the pounds off. I think I need psychological help, I really do.

And speaking about food, I'm starving!! Juan left for work early and I got used to him making my Breakfast for me. I left without eating and have nothing here at work. I'm gonna go to lunch at 10am today, lol...

LOL Michelle when I read what you said about hanging up clothes I spit out my coffee (and messed up my necklace, thanks!!)

I did that, washed and hung up each and every outfit, coordinated by months, etc... Then he came along and I put them in his drawers. For months now, it doesn't even go to his room. I store stuff in his drawers now.

If it makes it out of the laundry basket before he uses it, I cleaned out some drawers in my dresser for him, since that's where we get ready in the mornings!

Went to doc this morning, nothing exciting, heart beat is at 150 now. 4 weeks till I find out the sex! I told her how Russ wants a girl so bad, she laughed and said it's normally the other way around.

I got the over the top of the nose look when she saw how much weight I gained. I was sad, but I did point out that I am super puffy.. none of my shoes fit, the top of my stomach is bloated, I didn't retain Water with C, but I think I am now!! So I blame that. Then she looked at my old chart and said that's about how much I gained between the 2nd and 3rd visit with C. Sad. But I still think this one is a lot of water.

Yesterday was horrible. C HAAAATES car rides, so he screamed the entire 2 hour trip there. Then we get there and his gma (the one who asked us to meet her there!) is out 'running errands'.. for HOURS. I'm like seriously what the hell, we're not going to be there all day. So at some point we're hungry so we said where are you, we'll come meet up with you for lunch.. and she goes 'oh we stopped for lunch, we're eating now'. His family just blows my mind. So she FINALLY decides to come to the house--meanwhile Carson's baby cousin was with her, so it's not like I got to be entertained, I sat there in the living room talking to his mom.

We saw them all of an hour, then we went to dinner and went home. Ended up being there hours later than we planned because of all this, so it messed up Carson's sleep schedule plus he was a mess going home.. sooo upset and tired.

Told Russ, next time his Gma can make the trip down to visit us if she wants to see him.

^ Remember how last time I went I thought I'd die of hunger? Because of this I packed a ton of Snacks for me & C. It's a good thing, because the same thing happened, no one eats during the day.

Back from therapy. I got the knee to bend to 114 by laying on my back and sliding my food down along the wall. Kris is bringing me a weight bench tomorrow so I can do the same exercise at home. They were very pleased and so was I. I was able to do more today than yesterday and that's the goal.

Laura... glad you remembered what happened last time and were prepared for it. I would say the same thing to the relatives.. you want to see him, you come see him!

Michelle...when my kids got their license, all I could think of was the insurance payment!!! lol It should make it a little easier for you when he's able to drive on his own, but I know the feeling of time flying. My baby will be 35 this December!!!!! YIKES!!!!

Haydee and Jane.. I'm so anxious to get my fill in Sept. I'm tired of being hungry between meals. I am going to treat the fill like a new start. I know, I know, how many new starts can we have... well, as many as we need, I'm guessing!

Off to ice the knee and fix a Tomato sandwich for lunch. We are beginning to get tomatoes from our garden... so yummy!!

Oh, Kris is doing better, but her back still hurts her. Her neighbors were upset she didn't call them yesterday to help out. But it was good for Grampa to spend a little time with his grandson.

I like the boat analogy Michelle!! I am not really upset, but not really happy. I am sure you all know what I mean.

I had a bad dream last night about I guess our trip to PS, for some reason Judy and I ended up in San Fran, and we got separated and it was a heavy fog and I couldn't find my gate. I kept yelling very loud, 'where is gate 89'. Then they I finally found it and they had already taken off and they were supposed to wait for me, so they had to come back and get me, except they had a small accident when they had to come back, nobody got hurt, but everyone (except Judy) (Right??) did not like me!! So that is your excerpt from weird dream of the day. I guess the moral of the story is if our plane gets diverted to S.F. Judy lets not get on it!! Isn't Michelle taking a later flight? Wouldn't she like some company??? Who cares if I don't get in til late that night.

Alright, enough babbling...........Off to work!!!

I have done a pretty good job of remember to go advanced and make this larger, sometimes I don't remember, but I am trying.

Hello from the barn... Fall leasing has begun, so now I'll be here 4-5/x week again til next summer... there's no leasing in the summer cuz of camps.

Well, ds will have to pay his own insurance, and it'll be awhile -- a year at least -- til he gets his own car... except I am pricing his dream vehicle (ragtop Jeep Wrangler) just to have an idea... I'm such a sucker!

I can't wait for the trip! Did I tell you that I'm going to buy the biggest tub of salsa that I can find & put a bow on it with a note to enjoy it & not call me about that or any food! Ha ha.

In and Out is not a 24 hour operation? I am surprised!!

That was a weird dream, I told some of my customers today and they all agreed it was odd.

My asthma is bothering me today for some odd reason.

Good morning, Violets..

Hope everyone is having a good day. Temps have cooled down here finally so I don't have to turn the a/c up so high. Just got back from exercising in the pool. Looks like rain so I wanted to get done before it started coming down. Made it just in time.

Off to have another Tomato sandwich and veggie straws.

First choir rehearsal of the season tonight. Hope I make it through!

Hey Girls~

Long day...hell, been a long week! Sorry I have been MIA a bit. I went to bed at 7:45 last night, OMG...I was ready at 5, but just couldn't bring myself to go that early. Last night, I was going to grill salmon and make a salad, but the salmon smelled like ammonia??? I bought it 2 weeks ago, froze it, then defrosted it...but when I opened it, I about fell over. We put it in trash bags, jumped in the car and went to Arbys! Threw it away at Arby's too...didn't want to put that in my trash can!

Well, the year is going along...not great and not bad...just going! Got a rough NEEDY group, and I've had to take 2 kids outside to "give them a talking to". IT IS DAY 3!!!

Not much else to report. I had to resign from the Human Rights Comm. I don't "live" in PS anymore, and even though I work and still own a home there...I had to resign. At first I was bummed, but then I thought...MAN, THAT IS A LOT OF TIME I GIVE THEM...F*&K them if they don't want me, haha! It does feel nice to have one thing off my plate!

CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU ALL TO GET HERE.

got MAD MEN in the mail today (LOVE NETFLIX) and am gonna go watch it!

Man Pam, I'd shape right up if you took me out into the hall for a "talkin' to"! Yikes! :)

Don't fret... the week is almost over & then it's a 3-day weekend! Yay! It always takes some time to get adjusted to a new school year (like 180 days, ha ha!).

DD got his learner's permit! And then I had one of "those" moments where I get caught short by thinking, "MIL's going to love hearing about this!"... like I've forgotten, like everything's the way it's supposed to be... and then it hits me... wah. That's the worst... those little "sneak" attacks of grief.

BUT... that said, I must mention that I am *cautiously* feeling as though things are more back to normal than they've been since January... and that is saying something! I don't want to jinx it by thinking it, but I do want to recognize it and be appreciative of it if it's true. My mantra is "balance" and I've gathered several photos to help me visualize that. I especially love this one:

I feel like it represents how I'm feeling at just about any given moment... balancing different loads but somehow managing to make it all work.

And with that... it's off & running for the day! Everyone make it a good one -- I love each of you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
