Anyone have a SW of 350+ lbs?

Recommended Posts

I've been higher than that at my highest, but came into this year around 290. However, that was on Atkins which I stopped in Feb and I know I've packed the pounds back on since stopping. I'm at the point where I need to get my physical done, but I'm procrastinating b/c my PCP's scale tops out at 350 and there's a really good chance I'm over that, even if only by a few pounds. But I REALLY want to get this done before the holidays hit, I'm certainly not getting any skinnier... There's a humiliation factor, but also my insurance company requires an accurate current weight to be submitted, and if I'm more than the scale can weigh - then I need to find a bigger scale!

I've sent an email to the bariatric center I've been working with asking them for their recommendations on a doctor. I can go anywhere in-network so I'm not held to my current doc (whom I've only gone to twice for ear issues anyway).

How else can I find a "fat friendly" doctor who would have a scale that would work?

I was 367 when I started and my PCP's scale only went to 350 as well. The surgeons office you are using should have a scale that handles heavier people, I know mine does, and they would certainly be understanding or as you put it fat friendly considering the business they are in. Maybe you could work out something with your PCP by letting him/her know that you realized you were over their scale limit and that you went to the sugeons office and give them what you weighed there. He/she could even verify it with them as someone should record that information in your file.

started at 365 - my home scale only goes to 330 and we haven't been on speaking terms for 2 years... we talk regularly these days since he stopped saying "err".

I started at 415 but my doctors office has a scale that goes to 600 pounds sitting in the Lobby...

Any hospital should have a scale some where that can weigh you.. even if its a bed one.. its just asking thats the hard part.. but they shouldnt have a problem allowing it.

Well here I go again about TOPS. I weight about 411 now and my doctor's office scale is always broke. I go to TOPS Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, which is a weight loss support group. They are all over the country so I am sure there is one near you. Go to the TOPS website and locate one near you and call to find out what their scale goes up too. If the nearest one does not have one, their regional director should be able to help you. TOPS people are great, we have one lady who has been with tops for over 30 years, she recently made KOPS status (Keeping Off Pounds Sensibly). I love my group. Good Luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
