Hi Everyone,

Thought I would jump in here. Don't really know what I'm doing but that's never stopped me before. So, if I make any online faux pas, my apologies. :smile2:

I'm self pay (booooo), and am getting banded on June 14th here in Utah! The process has been incredibly fast! Went to a seminar on May 19th, turned in my paperwork the next day. Received a call from the Dr.'s office on the 21st to schedule the surgery. Holy crap! Now, just waiting for another call about all the pre-op stuff. Since I'm self-pay the process is smooth and pretty darn easy so far! I'm in shock from how fast it's going.

I'm still trying to determine, who I'm telling about this surgery and who I'm not! It's a tricky business. . . Anywhoo. . . looking forward to chatting w/ya'll! I still need to fix my signature line. . but till then:

SunD1

Before: 311 lbs

Pre Op: not sure yet

Goal: 140 lbs... (lofty, isn't it?)

Hi and Welcome:smile2:

Wow you are moving fast!!!!! You don't have to go this fast if you're not sure or ready yet. My suggestion is read all the info you can find on this forum and get diet info from the doctors office (pre-op & post-op diets etc).

It's almost a year since I started my journey. My process could have been a little faster but, it gave me time to prepare emotionally. My date is June 30th so I'm ready now:thumbup:.

Best of Luck,

Carol D'

Thanks for the reply Carol D!

I've done a lot of research, so I'm as ready as can be. I think I just didn't expect it to go so smoothly. I figured I would need this signature or that document, yadda yadda. So, I had kept my expectations very low.

You're right, you really do have to be emotionally prepared. It's a BIG step, a BIG deal if you will. But. . finally. . I'm ready!

Keep me posted, your date is coming up as well. :tongue2: Very exciting. . . .

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
