Today is my 3 year bandiversary...woo hoo

Recommended Posts

So...3 years ago today I was under the knife. Today I am sitting at work in my size 8 sundress sipping on some Starbucks and absolutely LOVING life. My life has changed sooooo much in the last 3 years, I could probably write a book about it. In a nutshell...April 30, 2007 had lapband surgery...April 14, 2008 found out my husband was a cheater and having an affair...March 7, 2009 kicked my husband out after a very unsuccessful attempt to save a horrible marraige (at least I tried...lol)...April 14, 2009 (exactly one year after finding out about the cheater) had a lower body lift and breast lift with augmentation...May 26, 2010 divorce hearing. Life is GREAT and I can't imagine where I would be if I didn't have my band...I love life and myself.

Thanks! I lost 131 pounds but gained a little bit back after being stuck inside with a ton of snow this past winter. I would like to lose 10-15 lbs.

mumof2boys - You are truly an inspiration! I am a 53 year old male and I'm "celebrating" just my 3 day bandiversary. So far, so good and I feel much better than I thought I would after just 3 days. I know not to count on it, but so far I'm already down 6 lbs. The only draw back so far is that I have been getting some hunger pains with just liquids allowed so far, but once I heal a bit more, take on a little more real food, and have a band fill, I'm confident even these minor discomforts will go away or be less frequent. I have to say that from your photos you look fantastic and it makes me very hopeful that I can follow in your footsteps. Thanks for posting them!

wow!!! haha to your cheating ex...YOU look great! Congrats on the success of looking beautiful AND loving yourself during this time  How long did it take you to lose the 131 pounds? How is maintance, do you find it difficult to maintain? I am 9 months today and down 77 pounds....25 to go and hoping it won't take too long. I got "comfortable" but am really working it these days. You have further motivated me, thanks!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
