Did you band get tighter before you found out you were pregnant?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My husband and are trying to conceive, and I am sure I am having a wacko cycle, but I have never experienced anything like this before. I am due to start my cycle on May 5, and on April 26, I started spotting, light pink and then seems to get a little heavier, but have not needed a pad. But, I have noticed my band has been tighter than normal. I have also been having lots of heartburn. So, I was wondering if anyone experienced this prior to finding out you were pregnant.

Thank you

I'm eight weeks and I just noticing that my band seems a little tighter this week. I didn't notice a difference at all in the beginning. Have you tested???

I was having some pains after I ate, and due for my period. I took a test and it was positive. I had 3.5ccs, and got 1cc removed, and now I feel better. So I guess it was pregnancy making me feel tight, and now I had an unfill, I dont feel restricted at all (but still eating less than pre-surgery).

I took two of the dollar general 5 day early pregnancy tests and both of them gave me a very, very faint line. But then, when I tested earlier yesterday, it was even more faint. When I took the tests, I was 11 days past ovulation and 12 days past ovulation. I am taking another in the a.m. at 13 days past and see what happens. Strange thing, I spotted from 7 DPO to 11 DPO, and now I am not spotting. So, I don't know what's going on. I am not "technically" due to start my period until May 5th. So, I have no clue. Congrats to you on your bun in the oven )

Congrats to you!!) I have almost 6 cc in my band, but I know sometimes my band gets tighter around cycle time, anyway. I've also got some heartburn going on too.

Just wanted to come on and say, I experienced a chemical pregnancy. So, I was, in fact, pregnant, but for whatever reason, it just didn't stay in there. I have to go and have my progesterone levels checked this month on the 21st day of my cycle. So, hopefully, this month will be better.

Sorry to hear about your loss, I wish you all the best for next month! It does show the band is affected in early pregnancy for some of us, since I wasnt the only one. I really hope youre successful soon!!

Yes! for 7-10 days before I got a positive pregnancy test, I was noticeably tighter (which really made me believe that I was indeed preggo!). I actually PB'ed twice which I hadn't done in nearly a year. Good luck with things!

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
