I am on day 2 of my 14 day liquid pre-op diet and I don't know that I can make it!!! I'm STARVING, I have a horrible headache that I can't get rid of, no energy and I could almost bite the head off of anyone who stands in front of me. 12 more days...:scared2: any advice for me?

omg, me too! lol I'm praying that someone can shed some light on acceptable recipes that help with the hunger pangs. i'm sooooooooooo over chocolate Protein Shakes. lol too much sweet & not enough savory is my problem, i think.

we're gonna make it though, come hell or high water!

That's exactly my problem!!! Although I have a tremendous sweet tooth, I'd kill for something savory!!!! I'm going to try chicken broth for dinner and HOPE that it will do the trick for me!!! Good luck to you...hang in there!!!!:scared2:

Hi guys -

I know this is really a hard time right now, but whatever your doctor will allow you to have, have a variety of it. Don't stick to one thing all the time - vary it as much as he/she will allow so you don't get bored and feel deprived. It really does help. In the meantime, just think of the great jump start you are giving yourself! Before you know it this phase will be over!!

Best of luck to you!

Thanks bambam, appreciate the support and encouragement!! I'm now on day 3 and I'm happy to say that my family is still alive and I haven't gnawed my own arm off yet!! I'm just hoping that after today or tomorrow, that I'll have more energy and not be as grumpy!!

Today is the last day of my pre-op diet as I am getting banded tomrrow. I promise you I felt the same way you do now. I did not think I could do it. It is very hard but well wroth it! . You will probably experience several emotions. I was, and still am hungry all the time. chicken broth and Crystal Light helped alot. I put diffrent flavors of sugar free Troani( the flavors that go in cofee) in my shakes. Good Luck. We can do this:thumbup:

hey guys im currently in day 8 of my 12 day diet. I have 3 shakes a day and one chicken breast. The first 3 days suuuuuuccccckkkkkkk. Headaches were terrible. it was one of the hardest things ive done. BUUUTTT it gets better, or maybe let me say easier. U just got to develop a routine for your food intake and everytime hunger strikes take a walk around the block or drink a glass of Water. This is what helped me get through it. By the end of the first week you don't think about it as much and never lose sight of why your doing it. A lot of bandsters say that the preop diet is the hardest part.

On day 6 i had a dr appt and i had already lost 12 lbs. talk about motivation.

I get banded monday, nervous and scared, but also excited.

Good luck i hope this helps, just stay strong and stick with it, it gets easier.....promise!

Good Luck!!!!

Well, I've made it to day 4 (yay!!!!!!) and it is a whole lot better. I'm still grumpy and people are so inconsiderate about eating in front of me, but I feel MUCH more in control!!!! However, I got on the scale this morning and have only lost 1 pound!!! 1 FREAKING POUND?!?!? I'm very frustrated over this!!! But I feel better, so there's something to be said about that, right?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
