April 23rd-Does anyone else have that date?

Recommended Posts

Woo hoo! The final hurdle was cleared yesterday. I had my endoscopy and my surgeon said the golden words: "See you next Friday at 8 am for the surgery." Anyone who is on this journey with me will agree those are the best words ever! So, does anyone else share my surgery date? Or within a day or two? Would love to keep up with you to share ups and downs.

Hi there! I'm being banded April 22nd.... I can't wait. I"m on the liquid diet as well, and finding it a challenge (I didn't get this way by being good at dieting!).

Good luck next week!

I am getting banded on April 23rd as well! Very excited about it, the day can not come fast enough! I have been on my pre op diet for a week now, basically high Protein low carb. The surgical center has yet to give me an exact surgery time, but I am sure I will find that out before next Friday =) Good luck to all of you and blessings for a smooth and easy surgery and recovery.

Hi, I am having my surgery on April 28th. I am just behind you. What are you doing pre-surgery regarding stockpiling food and liquid vitamins, etc?

Hi Lola'smama,

So far my doc has only asked that I start taking a supplemental general Vitamin with this pre-op diet. They told me we will be adding a chewable Calcium in the post-op phase but to not worry about it. I have loaded up with broths (chicken and beef) as well as weight watcher smoothie mix. I just can't get past the whey Protein additives. Up until Wednesday I can still blend versions of bean Soup for Protein but Thursday is Clear liquids. I'll be happy to give you a heads up as I forge through the road ahead! PLEASE do the same as our dates are SOOO close. Do you work? How much time are you taking off? I'll add you to my friends list so we can keep up!

Hi Yatin,

I'm the opposite as you. I found it much easier to deal with this diet while at work than at home. I had to watch my family enjoy some good tasting foods while I had liquids. YUMMY, right? Let's keep up with one another. How long are you taking off from work for the surgery?

Thanks for the heads up about work Yatin! I have already requested Monday but I might just show up if I am feeling well. Time off is precious and I don't want to waste it if I am ok for work! My surgeon tried to tell me to take the whole week off and that sounded drastic. I guess we'll see! It's almost here! Woo hoo!

Hi Lakeside,

I am laughing at how small our world can be. I am very familiar with Auburndale as I lived by UCF in Oviedo for 15 years. We've only been in Charlotte just shy of 2 years. Auburndale is where Fantasy of Flight is with the dummy hanging out of the crashed plane off of I-4. Anyway....we all need to support one another for sure and warn each other about any pitfalls!

I wonder if what happens at weight watchers will happen with you? Men ALWAYS lost the weight faster. We had husband and wife teams that ate identical food and yet the husband would beat the wife every time. We may be very envious if you can eek out better weekly losses! LOL! Seriously, good luck with your liquid pre-op diet!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
