Is my band too tight?

Recommended Posts

I got my fourth fill two days ago and am having a lot of difficulty eating and even drinking. I was able to keep a shake down this morning but I probably took 20 minutes to drink it. I am wondering if this is normal. I realize that things will change and I will be able to tolerate fewer foods, such as the salad I was unable to keep down yesterday, but how restricted should I be? I throw up Water if I take more than a few slow sips. I hope someone can answer - maybe I need to give it more time....

I am wondering the same thing. I feel like any time I eat anything other than soft food/mushies I get stuck and my stomach gets irritated and swollen so then I go back on liquids/soft food/mushies. I keep thinking maybe I am not giving my tummy enough time to heal properly in between episodes so I am trying to give it a almost two weeks before I try anything questionable. If I get stuck then, I am going to make an appointment to get some Fluid removed. I am only eating Soup and Protein Shakes right now and I constantly feel hungry and I really haven't lost any weight since my last fill 3 weeks ago, which is super frustrating to not be able to eat and not lose weight...stupid slider food!

My doctor's okay with waiting it out for a week or so, as long as fluids go down and stay down.

I had a fill 10 days ago, and have had a couple of stuck incidents since then. I didn't baby my band long enough after the first time I was stuck, and now I'm paying the price by having to backtrack from regular solids to mushier stuff for a few days.

If you are concerned, give your doctor a call and ask what his/her protocol is.

I had the same thing, after the swelling went down from the fill it got better, took a week to 10 days though. So if you can keep liquids in there is no major hurry, but if you cant then you need to go in right away. It should get a bit easier each day, if not call your doc and insist on a tiny unfil. I had to do 1/10th of cc and it made all the difference in the world.

Best of luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
