Spydr post about too much researching freaking us out really hit home. So if all you people who are already banded would complete the above sentence it would be really really encouraging!

My band is great and has changed my life .......

Because everytime I eat I am conscious of it. The awareness forces me to make a choice everytime I eat or drink. It's like keeping a journal of what you eat, only instantly.

Because I am feeling better, less tired, less sore, not bloat, etc.

Because I actually believe I'll be at a normal weight in the future.

My Band is Great and has changed my life because........

Now I can not only USE a regular bathroom scale, I can SEE it when I'm on it.

I can see if my socks match without sitting down first.

I can drive a compact car from the front seat.

I can hug my wife.

I can climb any stairs.

I have found out that plastic wrap is for the food that DIDN'T get eaten.

I can go through a whole day and have moments when I don't think about food.

That last one is a big one. That and hugging my wife. She deserves all the hugs she can get!

I would rather roll in a pile of fish hooks, naked, than give up my band.

I now have a life

I can play with my children

I dont feel as if food controls me

I feel in control

I AM IN CONTROL

I feel better about myself

I am more healthy than I have been in years

i LOVE MY BAND AND IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE BECAUSE.......

it has made me feel NORMAL about food. I am able to do what I want, instead of censoring my activities according to who will see me, etc......I don't care about stuff that doesn't matter anymore--I literally only sweat the BIG stuff. I feel renewed, have more energy, sleep better, laugh more. I feel like I can be seen for who I really am, instead of a physical image that didn't match what was inside.

:)

Thanks guys. This is the kind of thread I need to see 6 days before my surgery.

My band is great and has changed my life because......

I received the best compliment from my husband when he told me how proud he was of me and how good I looked !!! It made me melt and made me feel that it was the best decision I have ever made for MYSELF. The last year has not always been easy but it made me realize that it is about me and no one else. I have taken control and I am not letting food control me.

Hope seems to be the common thread hereand I believe Hope is what the band gives me.

I like to call it "the edge"; my secret weapon in this weight loss effort.

I'm newly banded, so don't have like a whole ton of weight to say i've lost or anything like that...it's simple...I am in control now.

I wouldn't have the hope and the joy I have now. I don't have to cry at night worried that I will be bedridden with obesity. I have hope that I will look in the mirror and be ok with what I see. I have the joy of knowing Im making a better "me".

Wow...did I ever need this post.

I'm waiting for my insurance approval, and this was just what I needed to read to remind me that whatever the struggles are, it will be so worth it. Thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts!

My band is great and has changed my life ....... because, Now I have hope, I feel I am in control and food is NOT my life anymore. I can smile and my eyes dont dissapear. I have a neck again, I can walk up and down the stairs, I can spend the day walking around site seeing without having to sit down ever 20min. I go out now, I dont hide in my Apt. I feel better about my self and my life.
