Lots of luck I will be thinking about ya. Can't wait to hear from you when you get back and are up to it.

Wow, i'm so impressed with everyone who's up and walking after surgery. I had my surgery on monday and I am still in so much pain. I'm just walking around the house for now. My back Injuries from a previous accident is making this a lot harder I guess. Good luck to everyone banded this week! Stay strong.

Got banded yesterday. Feeling groggy and a little pain in port area. I am not hungry. I am so excited for this new start. Love this group.

Twinserely~Tomorrow is our big day  Keep us posted and I will too!

Everyone: I am so happy for those of you that have already been banded!! I love to read all of your posts, it helps us to know kind of what to expect.

I have a question today I was told that they are going to use the Realize band instead of Lap-Band, have any of you had or know someone that has had the Realize Band?

Each and everyone of you are amazing!!

I had my surgery yesterday. I felt pretty good until last night. I started getting sore, especially around the port area. The Loratab helped though. Today I am really sore on the right side where the port is, but I am so glad to be back home!

Woke up this morning with a frog in my throat and slight cough. Hope I am not getting my daughters bronchitis! Called the surgeon this morning to make sure we are still good for Friday with this. I am waiting for them to call me back and advise if we are still good. I could use all the prayers i can get right know.

Just got a call from surgeon, they said unless I have a fevor we are good to go.

Update on receiving a call from surgeon

Hello all fellow April bandsters!! I had surgery Friday April 2nd. Everything is going great so far! No real problems, mostly gas which I have seen pretty much everyone complain of. I am in the "itchy incision" time now! Most all pain is gone, I am not taking any pain meds and have moved onto my full liquids phase of eating! I am personally having trouble getting all my Protein needs met! I have been trying to drink the Special K Protein waters and that has been going well...my Protein shakes on the other hand are just not doing it for me! Does anyone have any suggestions or is it just going to take a little while for me to be able to get back into the shakes...

Good luck to everyone with upcoming surgeries! You'll do GREAT!!

My Weights:

03/31/10: 260

04/02/10(surgery day): 258

04/07/10: 248

April 27th here...really nervous!! Never had surgery before or never been put to sleep!!!! I had a friend come up to me yesterday trying to talk me out of it because she said she knew ppl that had died from this surgery! I about DIED!! Scarred me so bad I went home and researched the percentages of deaths with Lapband!! I am still going through with it because I have Jesus in my heart and on my side!!

I have the Realize band but I couldn't tell ya the difference. Moments before I went into surgery the nurse told me she had both. I told her to give me whichever she thought was best. I know there is a thread here comparing the 2. I'm sure if you do a search for it you'll find it. I have my follow up appointment on Friday and I will definitely ask my dr.

One day post op and I'm at home walking as much as I can around the the house. they gave me regular chicken broth at the hospital last night and I was so thrilled LOL the things that excite me

Tomorrow is my day too! 10:30 am... I am so nervous today.. anxious... ugh...

Hi all! Sorry about the short post earlier about my surgery yesterday, but I was sooo tired when I got home from the hospital I just had to take a nap in my own bed!

I got there yesterday at 6:30 and I think the surgery started about 8:00. It took about an hour and then recovery for about an hour. I have 5 incisions. The one with the port is on the right side. I am having a lot of soreness, especially around the port incision. I am not really having any gas pains which is great. I am not hungry at all. I am having to make myself drink my Clear Liquids.

My advice is to walk as much as you can. It does make you feel better. I get stiff and more sore after laying around.

I am excited because my surgeon took me off my blood pressure medication! It got really low during surgery and after. I guess losing those pounds on the pre-op diet and no caffeine anymore helped that situation!

So, everything is going well for me. Good luck to all the others getting ready to have surgery! It is definitely worth it so far!!!

Well seems your day is tomorrow. I am so excited for you and wanted to wish you well. Keep me informed on your surgury and recovery. Best of luck.

I was scheduled for 03/31/2010 but my Docs dad passed away on the 30th. I am now rescheduled for tomorrow 04/08/2010! Wishing every bander good luck and a very long success!!!

Hi Love, u have the answer to the question. Jesus is the ultimate doctor and healer. People get killed eday by driving down the street. Keep ur faith, commit the surgery team in God's hands and keep going. Fear and faith can not reside in the same space. By HIS stripes u r healed. God Bless
