  1. I love it when someone sees you that hasn't seen you since you lost weight and they do a double-take! Makes me feel so good!
  2. I have seen so many people regain weight after having a gastric bypass that I think if you are going to cheat, you are going to cheat no matter what. Both procedures are to be used as tools and you can defeat the purpose with either one.
  3. Congratulations!!! I have 14 more pounds to go to Onederland, and I can't wait!
  4. I just have to pay my insurance co-pay when I go in for my fills which is $40.00.
  5. Hi, I'm Rhonda and I'm 50. I had lapband surgery on 4/6/10 and have lost 80 pounds so far. I need to lose about 46 more pounds to reach my goal weight. I have never never regretted my lapband surgery and just wish that I would have done it 10 years ago!
  6. I haven't been on LapBandTalk for a long time. I have just been so busy but just wanted to say that I am over half way to my goal. I've now lost 69 pounds and have 57 more to go! Whoo Hoo!
  7. I'd like to join as well! I am going to optimistically set my goal for 20 pounds. That would get me down to 219!
  8. These have been the hardest for me to get used to: 1. Not drinking while eating! 2. Chew, chew, chew! 3. Slowing down and not eating in a hurry! 4. No carbonated drinks!
  9. This is exactly what I needed to hear today! I am 3 1/2 weeks post band surgery and have been very discouraged the last couple of days. I basically feel the same as I felt before surgery. I am trying to keep in mind that it will get better after a few fills. Will power is just so hard!!!
  10. That is great! Congratulations!!!
  11. Isn't it great to have this problem?!
  12. Bambam, Your smoothie sounds great! I can't wait to try it. I have just started soft foods so I have tried scrambled eggs, grits, oatmeal, and protein shakes this week.
  13. I had my surgery on 4/6/10 and I have just now gotten my hunger back. It took about 3 weeks for me.
  14. Mine is 2 weeks after surgery.
  15. I have a strange question and not sure how to explain it. I am 4 days postop and I have been having these strange spasm feelings in my esophagus today off and on. Kind of like an air pocket feeling? I am on clear liquids only and am trying to sip. Am I taking too big of gulps? Does anyone else know what I am talking about???
  16. I'm day 3 post-op and have lost 21 pounds (19 on pre-op diet).
  17. Hi all! Sorry about the short post earlier about my surgery yesterday, but I was sooo tired when I got home from the hospital I just had to take a nap in my own bed! I got there yesterday at 6:30 and I think the surgery started about 8:00. It took about an hour and then recovery for about an hour. I have 5 incisions. The one with the port is on the right side. I am having a lot of soreness, especially around the port incision. I am not really having any gas pains which is great. I am not hungry at all. I am having to make myself drink my Clear Liquids. My advice is to walk as much as you can. It does make you feel better. I get stiff and more sore after laying around. I am excited because my surgeon took me off my blood pressure medication! It got really low during surgery and after. I guess losing those pounds on the pre-op diet and no caffeine anymore helped that situation! So, everything is going well for me. Good luck to all the others getting ready to have surgery! It is definitely worth it so far!!!
  18. I had my surgery yesterday. I felt pretty good until last night. I started getting sore, especially around the port area. The Loratab helped though. Today I am really sore on the right side where the port is, but I am so glad to be back home!
  19. Tomorrow's my day! I am supposed to be there at 6:30am. I am not afraid at all. I am ready to receive this tool that will finally help me in losing and keeping off the weight!
  20. Congratulations to all of those that have already had their surgeries! So happy to hear that you all are doing well! Mine is April 6th too. My boss just asked me if I'm getting nervous. I don't think that I am, I'm just excited and ready to move on! Good luck to all the surgeries today!
  21. Thanks for all the replies! Yesterday was just a tough day! I was just so sad all day. We just put so much emphasis on food in our lives I guess I was actually in mourning about how my life is going to be so different from now on. I do feel better today. I went to my weight loss surgery support group last night and it helped so much. If any of you are not part of a support group I recommend that you find one! There were people there that are post surgery and pre surgery. It helped me a lot just listening to their stories. My surgeon also spoke to our group about being bored or stressed and wanting to eat. He encouraged us to find other hobbies or new activities to do. It was a very good meeting. Thanks to all for the encouragement!
  22. Ok, I am only 8 days away from surgery but I started feeling depressed yesterday! I should be jumping for joy but I just can't shake this. Has anyone else experienced this????
  23. Congrats! It's a great feeling to finally get approved isn't it? Good luck!!!
  24. Hey Judy, Congratulations, you are on your way! I got my post-op diet yesterday and actually is a slow build-up of eating for 4 weeks. I don't have them with me right now, but I know the first week will be clear liquids like broth, sugar free jello and popsicles, skim milk, and unsweetend juices. More is added the second week, third week, and so on. After the fourth week you are on a regular healthy diet. Good luck!
