I had a problem with weight most of my adult life.  Tried every diet in the book sometimes with sucess but always gained it back. I just got tired of be depressed all the time and missing out on a lot of events that I would have loved to participate in.  When a few of the nurses where I work had the lapband surgery with great success I decided to do it. My surgery is scheduled for the end of March and I am both very excited and nervous. My daughter who is in her 20's is also in the process of getting the lapband surgery.  I guess after she saw me struggle all of my life and she also has a weight problem she decided to get it also.  I am so happy for her I only wish I had done it sooner. My husband is very supportive and encourages  me to have it done only if "I" want to. I have been reading some of the stories on this site and it made me realize that it really  is going to be a hard road ahead, that the surgery is not a quick and easy fix. But I am  determined to do it as  I have started to have some health issues due to the excessive weight.  Can't wait to be on my way to a thinner and healthier and happier person!
