First fill with aunt flo visiting - bad idea?

Recommended Posts

I need some advice. I've read that restriction etc can change in relation to the friendly monthly visitor. Mine just arrived today and am totally bloated. I'm scheduled for a fill in 2 days - will hopefully be my first. (I say hopefully as I attempted to get my first fill last week, but the doc was unsuccessful in finding the port.) Do I bother going this week to have him try again? I'm self-pay, and want to avoid doing it under x-ray until its absolutley necessary.

I guess my question is: are fills more difficult at that time of month? Would I be better off waiting until next week?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would totally wait (especially if you're self pay). I got my first fill the day before my period ended and he barely put anything in (my doc does the fills under fluoroscopy so you can see the restriction levels). He put some in and removed some twice, so there was hardly anything in there and I was completely ravenous the whole day and every day after. It's not too bad now, but my portion sizes are still over 8 ozn so I'm getting another fill next week. I feel like I wasted my time getting that first fill.

Thanks so much for the response! That was exactly what I suspected, but didn't know if I was being paranoid. I'll call and reschedule for next week.

Thanks again!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
