Hello all,

After a lot of thought, discussion and supportive words from friends (special thanks to my 12/21 posse buddy) I made the phone call and have an appointment for rebanding January 19th!

Now the goal is to make sure I'm as healthy as possible for surgery. At first I was panicked thinking, "I need to get my weight back down to where I was when I lost my band", but I know darn good and well that if I feed into that panic I will gain weight instead of losing it. :cry

So....I have about 2 1/2 months (of course during holiday season....sheesh!) but taking little steps (literally). I got my water bottle at work that I'm drinking on my breaks (can't have it in the class I cleanroom fab I work in) and was able to get 2 liters down fairly easily last night. Also found a hiding place at work (people love to sit down and talk to you while you're reading....argh) on the 6th floor so I am taking the stairs from the 3rd floor at each of my breaks.

I'm trying....

Darcey, I am so glad you decided to get rebanded. Just take it one day at a time and if you gain some weight before your surgery, well then you gain some weight. It's not the end of the world. You are an inspiration, to know that bad things can happen with the band but that we can bounce back and go after our dreams again. Keep us posted.

Great News Darcey..I'm happy for you. Is Ortiz doing your re-banding?

Dont stress too much, if it were that easy to get our weight down we wouldnt need the band..take it one day a t a time

Hi Darcey,

You are such a trooper!

I certainly wouldnt worry about my weight - just like Michelle said, if we could lose weight successfully, wewouldnt need the band.

Heck, youre gonna lose major weight the first month you have it - so enjoy this time while you can.

psst - before Jan 19th, eat a B I G juicy hamburger for me, please?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
