Hi Everyone!

Im finally doing it. After being told by 4 or 5 different drs here in San Diego Im going to be banded at UCSD by Dr Jacobson on November 10th. I live in North Park, and will be going back to Missouri in January.

Anyone got any helpful advice? I started the liquid diet today (although had to fast most of the day, so not sure how it actually went since I was hungry from fasting, but was sick (thank you daughter for spreading that bug lol).

Hi Mum, just over I-8 near Lake Murray. They can do the stress test with drugs rather than the treadmill if you cannot walk on it. Who is doing your surgery?

Welcome to LBT!

Cocoabean, well I just got most of my pre-op with the 1-800-get-thin peeps but idk if I will stick with them, I liked them becuase they take my insurance and I could get most of my pre-op done immediately but alas i had a horribly visit on sat to do all of my pre-op I had an appointment at 11 am on sat showed up at 10 like i was supposed to after all my other things that happened during the day I ended up leaving at 6:30 at night, so after 24 hours or not eating or drinking and a rude rad-tech I was done, everyone else was great but it was hard, i left balling and my husband yelling at them! the other reason is i was referred to them by my husbands co-worker, she however is having a good experience with them, the ast reason i liked them was becuase they will include an cosmetic procedures after the weightloss with only me having to pay my deductable since im a "hardship". So im not really sure where im at at this point. Im glad to hear they can drug induce the stress test because with my knees there is no way! thanks! :)

HI again, Mum, I have BCBS California Access HMO. I really loved my surgeon. MY PCP said he is the one that he would go to for bariatric surgery and in fact, he did, about a year after I was banded, Dr. Callery did a GBP on my PCP. You might give his office a call and see if he accepts your insurance. I don't think he does any cosmetic work though.

He does do an info seminar once per month. Hi office is in Poway, but very worth the drive, in my opinion.

I saw you friended me, keep me posted, please! rolleyes.gif

Hi all! I have not been on this site in quite a while though I check back for adivce from time to time. There seems to be a lot more San Diegans around now which is awesome. I'm about 3 months from a year out & am hating plateaus likes nobodys business. I'm about 70lbs down after 10mts but the last few mts have been a struggle to lose more than 2lbs a mt. Old habits crept back in so Ive decided to really make an effort to get into those terrible 2's. Support is always helpful! Anyone looking for workout or accountability buddies feel free to PM or email me! I'm in El Cajon. Best of luck bandsters!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
