Funny because I just read another thread

where someone said that drinking Water works for her.

Mind you...she said sipping doesn't work.

According to her you have to gulp it.

It forces nausea and causes your stomach

to pump it right back up.

I haven't been filled yet so have yet to be

a part of the stuck group. I'm nervous...

After experiencing a episode of PAIN from drinking Water, I would never ever do it again! My God, it hurts.

I either wait it out and win

OR

wait it out and it wins by coming back up....

Oh my gosh NO ! Drinking after a meal almost always causes my band to 'overflow'

for that reason I've never had a problem following the no drinking for 30 minutes after eating rule !

When I have a stuck episode, if I swallow a gulp of Water, it will go down and immediately come right back up, but that action seems to dislodge the stuck item as well. It's less painful than being stuck and takes less time to resolve than just waiting it out.

My 'stuck' episodes are becoming rarer, though. I guess it means I can be taught.

Gotta go with ElfiePoo on this one. Taking a few big drinks of Water will bring it back up. Sipping does nothing but hurt like heck.

This is my preferred method of getting a stuck episode over with. Once it is out of there, the pain is gone and the sliming stops. It's a good thing.

The only time I tried it the Water came back up like a gyser. It was horrible. I just wait it out or make mayself throw up if it's too bad. Thankfully I have only been stuck a handful of times.

When you say sliming do you mean that you salivate continually until the blockage goes through? I think I am having a stuck moment right now. I have serious pain below my breasts right between them. I cannot quit spitting because I feel like I am going to throw up if I swallow. I have had this before and it is hit or miss. I make sure I chew my food really well and wait between bites. I cannot drink anything to clear it because that causes extreme nausea. I was eating a salad tonight and last night and cannot eat even two small bites before I experience pain. I just want it to go away.

Call me crazy but I would like to experience this just once. Maybe then I'll know I made the right decision having this surgery. I can eat everything and have yet to get stuck. I've purposely tried to get that full sensation. Perhaps a couple more cc's?

Nonoma,

believe me, you don't want to experience this feeling.

I also had the same as you, I eat whatever I want and never have a problem. Luckily I have been able to watch what I eat and use very strong willpower that I never seemed to have before the band was inserted and still have been losing weight.

but last night I had a very dry burger on a potato roll. the roll was very soft and the burger was very dry. I took one bite and it got stuck. Ohhh the pain.

I was able to walk around through the pain until it finally moved but it was about 15 minutes of pain. My boys kept saying drink something (they just don't understand) but I knew if I did I would be a mess.

I did slime a bit, but not much. I don't vomit, have only vomited 4 times in my entire life so I couldn't even force a vomit although I really wanted to after the first 5 minutes.

Once the food moved I chewed two papaya enzyme tabs to help break up that food and took the burger off the bun. I cut it up and put barbeque sauce on it and ate the rest without a problem.

My doc and the nutritionist both said make sure the food is very lubricated with mayo or some kind of sauce, but I guess I had to see for myself.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
