Sugery 12/28/09 Needs Help...with some questions

Recommended Posts

Hi I just had my surgery done on the 28th of December and for the most part things went well. I was able to walk around and have managed to stay away from taking pain medicine all day today. But I've been having some pain when I have air/burp comes up is that normal it is discomforting for a few seconds. I been taking Gas X to see if it would help. I hope this will soon go away any advice on what's going on would be very helpful....Thank you in advance for helping me out

When I had that feeling it helped to lean back or arc my back over a chair.

I was banded on the 12-16-09 and I had the same pains. It is just gas. They fill you full of air when they do the surgery. It has to come out some way. I burped all mine out. Walking helped so much. The more I walked the more I burped and the better it felt. It lasted about a week for me. I am 2 weeks out and I feel great! I feel a lot better than I did just a week out! Hang in there it gets better!!!

My doc encouraged me to take the pain medication and to get out and get walking immediately. On the third day, my family took me to an aquarium with his permission. It really did help to get the gas out of there. Maybe you should keep taking the meds for a couple of days so that you can feel comfortable enough to walk some. Hope you feel better soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
