Excited but nervous!
Change can be hard on people sometimes and I agree with kleinow01 he may be insecure and thinking if you get all skinny and "hott" you may not need or want him. Men are like that sometimes and they will try to sabatoge your efforts or make you think you can do it "without" the lapband. I know this from experience as I have had several diets sabatoged before. Only you can decide if this is the time for you or not but I know one thing I have been "dieting" one form or another for ten years and a little will come off here or there and then it's back and then some. I kept saying I will get fit before I am 40 - guess what 40 came and went and with little progress. So the next year is going to pass anyway why not be on the road to a healthier happier you? Put a positive spin on it and tell your husband how "he will benefit" from a healthier happier you!! Let him know you are doing it for yourself and you would appreciate his loving support. Good Luck I wish you the best!

Weird Circumstances
Oh my gosh.... How funny are you. Well at least you got to taste and get the craving over and done with and next time you will think twice since it was such an experience for you. Sometimes all we need is a little taste of what we think we want and that satisfies the craving.

Motivation has Left the Building
Onekenbai - hang in there don't give up there has to be a solution just keep looking and talking to other bandsters because I am sure you are not the only one that has experienced these results. Sometimes bodies just reject having the foreign object in them and it takes a while for your body to adjust and accept it as part of the new you. I am wishing you all the best and many prayers your way!

Pattern of weight loss--slow or not?
ssmom - Hang in there I think we all go through an obsessive stage second guessing everything but it will pass. Also 1 3/4 lb average per week is about norm the doctor told me an avg 2 lb weight loss per week is good. Just think 2lbs per week 4 weeks per month x 10 months would be 80 lbs in ten months I would take that any day because no matter what the time is going to pass so why not be making strides towards our goals even if sometimes it is a little slower than we had hoped for. Good Luck on your journey and many blessings to you along the way!

Late Night Musings
Wow! very inspiring and informational for those of us that are fairly new to this, Thank You. You clearly have a great sense of humor as well so the upbeat postive attitude is sure to help along the way. Great job on the near 100 lb loss that is absolutely awesome. I can't wait until I have some really tangible results to report.

confessions of an "Olive Gardener"........
I understand about those olive garden breadsticks I used to go there just for them lol - literally I would eat lunch then I would buy some to go they are that good. In the long run it will be worth giving up some of those sinful pleasures. One week at a time. Also as women our bodies fluctuate due to monthly cycles, hormones, etc .. so there will be some weeks we don't lose we just keep moving forward.

Daddy's "LITTLE" girl...
J_BandRanger thank you for sharing such a personal situation! It happens to a lot of girls/women that their own Father/Mother people that are suppose to love you unconditionally can hurt you the most by making hurtful comments that never really go away they just get buried inside. Remember you are beautiful God made only one you and you are special and unique no one can replace you! I am glad you want to be healthier and look better but that hurt will not go away until one day you sit him down and tell him those comments hurt you. Once you lose weight you will gain new confidence and you will not allow anyone to talk to you that way because you deserve to be loved and treated well! Many Blessings to you.

Ow -- What Did I Do???
Sandy I agree with DebraG - Call youur Doctor ASAP! The port is usually on the left side and that is where it is sewn (attached) to the muscle tissue for the Lap Band the Realize band has metal clamps that clamp into the muscle depending on which one you have it could be a port issue - Have you had your first fill? The "pop" you heard could have also been the tubing pulling away from the port so be sure to tell your DR especially if you continue to have pain.
-
Lap Band Experience 7/2/10 day 1
The throat tenderness may be due to the tubes and stuff that goes along with surgery. Warm tea no sugar should help but ask your Doctor to be sure - rest is good but walking is a must right now to keep your circulation in good health, Congrats on your new life!

Inches lost - Whoo Whoo!
DebraG - How exciting and what great results! Thank you for sharing I enjoy reading your blogs! Happy 4th!

19 days post-op
RosieSue-Wow I am feeling down just reading your blog! I am not trying to offend you but staying positive is half the battle in life. Just think next time this year you are going to be a healthier slimmer version of yourself, now that is something to be happy about. You have to surround yourself with positive people! If you don't want to cook start calling your "guests" and let them know it's a Potluck don't get stuck cooking for everyone! Most people are willing to help but if you don't speak up they won't know. I have a brother that used to live on the same block and we only seen each other every year for my 4th of July BBQ because we both had busy lives and we really enjoyed catching up on that day! His work has since taken him out of State and I miss him every 4th! Maybe the people that come to your house every year enjoy your cooking, and company as well as your view of the fireworks show, it sounds like it is a fun "tradition". I hope the rest of your day gets better Happy 4th.
