Pattern of weight loss--slow or not?

Being a newby to this lap band journey, I am wondering if my weight loss is on the right path. I have observed from me and others the following: fast loss pre op and immediate post op. NO or very little loss pre fill. And a slow loss post fill. I have lost around 5 lbs in the 2 1/2 weeks of my first fill. That is and average of 1 3/4 lbs per week.

Now if you remember I did have vacation last week and gained, BUT that was water and I lost it and 1 extra lb, so that was a success.

But I am wondering, am I on the right pattern?

I have been viligent to record my food, watching carbs and protein. I have worked out everyday this week--yes this is the most I have but it is a beginning, and I check for ketosis every morning.

So am I doing everything right? Right now I am a bit obsessed over this process. I am sure when school starts back ( I am a teacher) I won't be so obsessed, but maybe I need to be???

Being new I am just wondering?????

ssmom - Hang in there I think we all go through an obsessive stage second guessing everything but it will pass. Also 1 3/4 lb average per week is about norm the doctor told me an avg 2 lb weight loss per week is good. Just think 2lbs per week 4 weeks per month x 10 months would be 80 lbs in ten months I would take that any day because no matter what the time is going to pass so why not be making strides towards our goals even if sometimes it is a little slower than we had hoped for. Good Luck on your journey and many blessings to you along the way!

ssmom-You are doing ok, my average loss per week at the beginning is a big amount but as you add weeks, the average is between 1 to 2 #s a week. My average is 1.67#s per week now. There are times when you will stagnate for two maybe longer at one weight but then the loss occurrs again. Just hang in there it's normal. Some folks loose more but for some like me it's a slow process. I weight myself every morn and monitor what I can eat that day to stay at my designated weight. It fluctuates from day to day. I keep a positive mind cause I know the lapband will eventually assist me in reaching my ultimate goal. Best of Luck and Always maintain a positive attitude, it's going to work. You may at times stray and if you do, just readjust and remember to go back to the basics, soups for a few days, mushies for a day or so, and whalla real food again. It has worked for me. Stay the Course.
