  1. So do you know how many grams of protein it is and is it whey or soy based protein? Thanks for the information.
  2. Protein shakes have never agreed with me, I tend to get in all my protein via food. How do you do it when we can eat so little. I hate the Protein Shakes and anything artificial for that fact. Before the sleeve I could do the shakes. Now I can not stand the foam they make, when the foam separates and I can skim it off the shake has also separated. Gross. I will be heading back to work next week and will try the pre-made Premier Protein shakes to help me while working.
  3. Those are all great stories but I have been off for 5 wks with 1 more week to go. I physically could have gone back in week 2 or 3 but was having problems with the after effects of the anesthesia. Also not eating and constantly drinking takes some getting used to. I was very nauseated and acid reflex very bad. I am ready to enter the work force again but my problem is being at a desk for 8 whole hours. I love this site because we get so many terrific ideas. I will use my phone as a reminder to eat, drink and walk. Everyone is different and you should take your ques from your body. I thought I'd only be out 2 weeks. lol
  4. Just remember to take it slow. Great job. I have to keep reminding myself.
  5. Believe me you are not alone at just a few days over 4 weeks post op the scale is itching upwards. I am scouring this sight trying to find out what is going on. I think that I am not getting in enough liquids. So I have made a conscious decision to drink, drink, drink and make sure I get in 52 or more grams of protein a day. I thought I was drinking too many fluids but then I was at least steadily losing when I cut back the scale just froze. So I've decided to do what worked at first and push myself to also do some more walking. Failure is not an option here. We can make it.
  6. I was sleeved April 16th and nausea is definitely a problem. Try a liquid anti acid it will coat the lining of your stomach and make sure you are not drinking too fast or too much. It will get better.
  7. Very good question I'll have to research. Are you still consuming lots of water and protein?
  8. I too needed advice from this post. I am going to increase the amount of Water and Proteins I am getting. When I was trying to get in 64 oz of water I felt bad everyday but the weight was continuously coming off. I walked over 2 miles today. I too had surgery on April 16th. I was told that I could increase my food intake to 3 1/2 cups per day. I realized yesterday that is too much. I will however stay on the Protein shakes and lots of water and decaf tea. I really hate sugar substitutes all of them have after taste to me. Maybe I'll go agave, honey or plain when making my tea. Sorry got off topic. Anyway be encouraged you have dropped more pounds than I have and this surgery is too serious to give up so quickly. We can make and it feels good to speak with others that understand.
  9. I was so shocked because I did feel hunger after the 2nd week of liquids post-op. I am wondering does the ability to eat normally ever happen. I know we will have smaller portions (which I am happy about) but now it is just weird trying to eat. I worry about getting enough protein but trying to eat is not that pleasant for me now. 4+ weeks out.
  10. I started soft purees 2 wks out. 3rd and 4th week some soft moist meats (can tuna it was still too dry for me). I am 4+ weeks and can tolerate Wendy's chili and most chicken thighs or legs only in small quantity though. Be very care, chew, chew, chew and take your time.
  11. So this makes me wonder if they are taking me too fast.
  12. Thank you all so much. I did start trying to get in more liquids today. Does anyone recommend zero cal Vitamin Water? I too am very sensitive to artificial sweetners and after tast from artificial sweetners.
  13. Please help. How do I get in an adequate amount of Protein on such a restrictive amount of food. I can not even swallow a protein shot now. The last protein shot I took nauseated me. Now I'm moving to solids at 1/2 cup increments 3 x per day. Right now I try to get in 2- 1/2 portions a day. My weight loss is almost zero. At week 5 how much Water should I be drinking. Also do any of you experience fierce heartburn at this stage. I took more time off work because this I feel so uncomfortable. I know I'm not eating hardly anything so I am getting so confused why I have only lost 2lbs in two and half weeks. When on liquids post op I lost about a 1lb. The soft foods came 1/4 cup and the weight loss almost totally ended. I first thought I needed a cleansing (so I took Milk of Mag) went down but back up the very next day; I even walked for .5 of a mile. Either way I have to get it together. Any suggestions.
  14. So many people try to tell me I didn't need the surgery too. However, I finally stopped their talk when I started saying I am carrying around two people. Best wishes.
  15. I am 4+ wks out and seem to be stuck. I wondering is a 1/2 cup too much.

Thanks New_Hope I did not know sleep is an issue. I seem to be stuck and haven't lost but 2lbs in two weeks. I am currently starting week 5. I had to take 2 more weeks off work because of the uncomfortableness of trying to eat and drink.
  17. I am 4 weeks out and totally not in sync with the guidelines. Get a small 30cc cup and drink from that for awhile.
  18. I am so with you. I am 4 wks post op and miserable. The protein shots make me gag. Which ones have 60 grams? I have the ones with 42 grams.
  19. So what are you doing to get in the needed protein. I am so tired of cold and sweet are there any alternatives?
  20. I too am struggling trying to find things high in protein that are not sweet. Even the no sugar items are sweet. I too want something hot, and salty. I was sleeved on the 4/16/12 the weight loss is slow but steady. Be thankful you are not having issues. The acid reflux gets unbearable. I am starting to not want to even drink water I'm burning so badly. The protein makes me nauseated. On top of that I started to feel hungry about 9 days not sure how to get through this. I am so glad I took off from work because this is a struggle.
  21. I pray things get better. Check QVC.com they really have an outstanding double walled thermal tumbler.
  22. Wow you've lost 82lbs since February. Do you exercise alot? I've been sleeved since 4/19/12 and am anxious to experience serious weight loss. Did you experience problems getting the protein down?
  23. Grateful05 commented on CrazyCatLady's blog entry in CrazyCatLady's Blog
I too was sleeved on the 16th. The thing I can say is try to get in the fluids. I've also had a few hiccups post-op. I keep reading and forcing myself to get the goal amt of fluids and proteins in. I had the worst case of acid reflux and gas, skyrocketing blood pressures post op so what I can say is I feel scared but not yet regretful. I am starting to feel hungry. I have to put lemon juice in my water to get past all the sugar-free but still sweet alternatives for water. You will get through this but you may also consider visiting your doctor sooner.
  24. I was sleeved 9 days ago in Texas also and I too am cold. Thanks for the post it is good to read this will pass with time.
