Fabulous!!!!!!!
Fabulous AND Fantastic! Good for you. I also had bloodwork done a few weeks ago and the ONLY thing out of line was that my uric acid was high. The doc's office said that can be caused by eating high amounts of protein . .. well, that makes sense, huh? So, they were not concerned about that. But my cholesterol and triglycerides which have been out of site for years were perfect! I've been off blood pressure and cholesterol meds for over a month now . ..and like you, I feel GREAT! Love it!!

Back in for Surgery after 4 months with the Band...
I am so sorry. I guess we all know this sort of thing is a possibility, but of course we all hope something bad does not happen. Prayers for your surgery and that your band can be replaced.

I don't want to look like the Chick-fil-A cow riding a motorcycle
Ditto to sandradee's comment. Shonette, my husband rides and he absolutely loves it when I ride with him. I've refused to ride this past year because of my weight - for one thing I did not have anything that fit (my leather coat, my summer riding coat - none of it) and didn't feel safe without the protection. But mostly it was just the weight - truly, I get your feelings. But if you've lost enough to feel comfortable at all to ride with him - DO IT! Don't wait until you're at your perfect size to do it, enjoy the time with him now - HE will love it. So, that's my opinion too . ..good luck!

Don't understand why I can't lose..?
I'm sorry, dooney, that you're not seeing the scale move. It sounds like you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Have you talked with the dietician at your doctor's office? That would be my best suggestion . . and that's what they're there for - use them to the fullest! I do know that around 3 weeks out, the swelling goes down around the band, so it "opens up" so to speak and it's easier to have increased portion sizes .. .everyone is different as to when they need a "fill" . . . again, my suggestion would be to talk with your docto'rs office. Good luck!

after surgery
I had all of the ones listed above (except grits - sorry SF2009, but yuck for me :-) . . .and you can check out "Thickit" . . they have a website and carry pureed foods .. . the chicken ala king is delicious! Also mashed potatoes with Beneprotein powder mixed in.

October is my mulligan...
Here's to a great November!

Moving on from Liquids!!!
If you go online to "Thickit" company, they make pureed foods that you can order . .. you don't have to, I mean almost anything can be pureed. But the Thickit Chicken-ala-king is especially tasty. I also use Beneprotein powder to add to foods to get some extra protein. Someone on this site posted that they puree tuna with some low fat mayo and that works really well too and very high in protein. Good luck!

soda
I am 3 1/2 months post op and have had a total of 2 sips of pop - maybe . . .I was told that the carbonation can stretch your band . . so it's just not worth the risk to me. I really haven't missed it . ..you get so used to getting in your water and other liquids, there's no time for pop anyways! Good luck.

Almost a month banded
I also have a long drive home, so I pack my supper and eat it at the office before I leave. Then when I get home I'm ready to play with the puppy and take a walk. I know this doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me . .. good luck!

To be... Or not to be... This is my question
The band is what allows me to follow the diet and eat the small amounts. The band makes me feel full so I'm not jonesing for food all the time. There is no way I would be where I am without the band. I was banded July 15, 2010 and have not thrown up at all (knock on wood). I am super, super careful - and I know that's not a fool proof thing - some folks are super careful and still have trouble. I don't want to throw up for fear of damaging my band, so I'm being soooo careful. Good luck with your decision.

♫?* Today feels like a Zumba day!!!*? ♫
My doctor does not numb first and really - it does not hurt. It's a slight "pinch" and a little pressure . .. that was my first fill. The second one was even less than that - no pain. Do not lose any sleep over this - you'll be fine.
