  1. No kidding D! I see my therapist tomorrow. Hope she can kick my ass. Off to fitday.com to journal my food for the first time in a week. UGH.
  2. Hi, I was banded in March. My weight January 1st 2007 was 313. I am now at 220. In less than a year I'll have lost over 100 pounds, I'm sure. Oh, I'm 5'2'', so a shorty as well. I went to my surgeon's support group recently and was the only lapbanded person out of 20. I called the practice the next day and asked if that's his ratio of surgeries. "No, he does many lapbands," was the answer and also, lapbanded people just don't go to the support groups because the nurse said, "You are more independant, have less complications and don't seem to need as much aftercare support." Which I want to beleive is true...however I said, the presentation was so biased and not meaningful to me that I'm not going back. Perhaps they need to seperate us out. My point is that the only thing I feel that binds these two surgeries together are that they are for weight loss. Otherwise they are vastly different. How we eat, how we poo, how we think, our expectations....everything. So now that you have decided to go lapband put that bypass thinking away and study up on what will make you super successful!
  3. This is more than a bump. It's getting closer and we really need to try to wrap our heads and hands around this. Who is still on board?
  4. You are doing just great! Thanks for the update. I agree with you about the pain meds. Fantastic!
  5. That has got to be hard! My GF doesn't live close so the DD doesn't see her that often. But when she's here, she HERE. You know, not just hanging out for a few hours but for the entire weekend. MY DD is 6 and I've been with the GF for 3 years. My ex, the other mom has a steady GF that's huge in DD's life too. It certainly is interesting raising a child so differently than I was raised. (Which is entirely a good thing! I'll keep that piece of baggage under the bed for now though.) But yeah, the two of them found a happy place. So Whew!
  6. Hi kids. HP, I'm feeling or I was feeling like you're feeling. Just making bad choices and forgetting how great it feels to be losing. I say "was" because today I'm really trying to pull my self back to that losers mentalitiy. I PBed too much this weekend, in part because I forgot to chew, or I sat down to plates of appetizer's food and was hurried, and lastly I made fried rice and if there is one thing that's an automatic PB, it's rice! Duh! How stupid I've been. My poor little band has taken a beating... I just wish there was a reset button to this damn thing.
  7. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a freaking great weekend you had! Food, wine, love, friends...it's fantastic. We had our anniversary weekend which had us dining at one the finer restuarants in Columbus and went to a new club called the BoMA, the Bar of Modern Art, campy but well done...it was a church converted into gallery/bar/restaurant with differet themes on every floor... I got some diamonds she got some clothing and life is good! Actually the best part is the kid and the GF are meshing better than ever. That's tricky and hard. Life is good, enjoy the car!
  8. Hi gang. It's beautiful riding weather this weekend, but I've been busy doing family stuff. We got a sitter last night so I can't see getting one today so I can ride, as much as I'd like to.... So, we were at one of the fanciest restaurants in town yesterday and I had to PB due to a bit of poorly chewed cauliflower. UGH. But dinner was fantastic and we went to a new club afterward for drinks. It felt all grown up and urbane. I got diamond and white gold hoop earrings. They are beautiful and sparkley. A girl always hearts sparkley. Well gang there's my update. I can eat like a trucker or I PB on a nibble of food. My band is being the bitch that they can be. XO
  9. I'm writing a paper about the changing role of the worker in the last 100 years in America, identifing the change in generations as it relates to the knowledge of the worker and the manager. I want to blow my freaking brains in. I expect with the turning weather we are going to be less chatty here.
  10. I think the christmas bonus is surgery is having work's insurance pay for the lapband surgery....I could be wrong. I thought I was going to get a comment for ass chewing...instead I got one for handing me my head...funny
  11. That's jacked up. No spousal insurance?! WTF?! Do they cover your children? Weird as hell. Good luck getting that sorted out and getting what you deserve! I need to get committed to eating right again. I'm having a terrible time of it. UGH.
  12. I'm 5'2'' At my highest known weight that I don't even put on the ticker I was 338. I was bursting out of 32s and 5XL. At surgery I was 290 and I was wearing a tight 28. Now, I'm at 220 and I just got my first pair of 20s! I wear 2xl tops but I've started buying XL's, and they fit nicely. I figure at 200 I'll be in 18s. I can't wait to buy petites just so I can get the fit right. I expect that will happen post TT, but it's on my list of goals!
  13. Well you can't get those 6 months back so think of it as time well spent getting prepared to have the band. You will be all that much more successful.
  14. Hair loss happens as a result of surgery for some people. I lost mine...I wasn't bald, but I had lots of hair in the drian...it was about 4 months out. I wasn't malnurished but I certainly had/have thinner hair. Just FYI
  15. Wow, I've just come across this and it's my story as well. UGH. May I pretend that all these fine folks are talking to me too? Keep the faith; it's going to get better. JulieNYC says it will and she's a pro. XO
  16. I'm a 33, 33, 33 for each area. Most times protein are a higher and the others are lower, but if I'm a good third in each area I figure it's balanced and okay.
  17. yo, HP, get the hell off the computer! hehehe. The weather is nuts! I have window open and it's nearly November!
  18. my thoughts exactly, HP. Where the hell are you BG?
  19. Like everyone above said, you are moving forward. That's a good thing. Are you exercising as much as you can? Can you switch up what you are doing for something different? It might get your body to drop more quickly. Just a thought.
  20. You'll be fine. They'll be lucky to have you.
  21. I'll be sending you good JUJU vibes. I'm sure you'll get the job. Woo Hoo! {{{{{{{{{{{{JUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJUJU}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
  22. Awe, that's what I'm talking about. Great visuals by the way, pouting, rolling around having temper tantrums... I'm the mom who stepped over and walked away bored from her 4 year old daughter who threw herself on the ground. She kicked and screamed to voice her displeasure with my decision making. It only happened once or twice, because it's a lot of energy to spend not to get the desire effect. Thanks for not handing me my head.
  23. calorie free liquor = pills Oh, wait, I can't advocate that! You are ups too early. What's the word on the new job? (I wrote position then thought better of it...with this crowd.)
  24. I am not trying to discourage anyone. Shame on me if I were. My point and it's been made a few different ways so far and by the fellas too, is that you are doing fine and being hungry before getting a fill is typical. On a spritiual or philosphical (sp) note, you get what you put out into the universe. [so I'm going to get a real ass chewing soon] but if you think your band isn't going to work for you, it won't. We manifest our desitinies. So stay positive. The negative stuff is happening in your head because you have unreal expectations or forgot what to expect or something like that. I've stomped my foot and pouted too along this journey and I'm sure I'll do it again. Please feel free to tell me what for. K? Eddie- Hating your job is a horrible place to be. Ugh. Sorry. Do you want to put me on list of 20?
  25. You can keep the shocker. I'm not uptight, but that's not on the list of possibilities. If I asked for a bodybugg she'd get me one, I just don't know if I want one or not. I'll hang on your opinions and maybe for Christmas I'll ask for one.
