Giving Up
Is there another surgeon within 100 miles of the one you are dealing with? If so start calling them now. My insurance approved my procedure but not my surgeon...so I had to start with a different doctor. But that was a breeze, the new surgeon's office was able to push me quickly though the insurance approval process. Good luck and come back here to tell us what you do...

You did not show your bare butt!? OMG. You rock though girl. You've got to be on top of the world. Did you ever guess a year ago you'd be running now? I'm amazed and inspired.

Columbus Area
I went to Bed Bath and Beyond with the 20% off coupon and got a magic bullet blender. It mixed the drinks well and then when I was on mushes it did a great job with stuff like blending cottage cheese and pizza sauce, or even meatloaf. Pre-op my surgeon didn't put me on a diet, but I put myself of one, just to be healthier going in to surgery. And I couldn't think of a reason to eat poorly anymore. It was just a low calorie diet that I tracked on FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal.

Off My C-pap!!!!
Go Deanna, Go Deanna! You're a rock star! And really sharing these NSV's is so important for the ones coming up behind us. It gives so much hope. I remember getting my CPAP and being depressed for weeks. The improved sleep helped with that though LOL. I packed mine away sooner than I should have, but getting rid of it was really important to me. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, crying in the bathroom sucks Cry all you want. I'd be crying too with lice in my hair and giantly huge hard turds causing me greif. I have to say it's been longer than I remember since I've been called an asshole. Kind of made me giggle. Be kind to your toilet.

Faith, Not that far, in Columbus, Ohio. The home of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Am I still welcome at your home?

Called me "Skinny"-grumble
Yeah, where is Miss Manners when you really need her? Because I typically get snappy and turn and run. After the fact I'm pretty good at saying, "You're part of the inner circle. I don't share everything with everyone..." But when it's happening, my first instinct is to say, "Are you talking about YOUR weight loss surgery? I didn't think Joe-Bob here knew YOU had that done." Which isn't nice at all.

yeah, A, B, C your list. You know the old Franklin-Covey trick. And get the As done before you worry about the Bs and Cs. You'll be surprised how that gives your room to breathe. If I lived close I'd help organize your pantry for you. Hee hee, I love that kind of stuff. Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale....

You do and it's totally my issue. She was being super sweet. There just seems like there's an appropriate time to talk weight and not an appropriate time. The same discomfort happend once when a coworker with whom I've been very open about the my surgery (she's heavy too) started talking about it in front of someone I didn't know at all. She was asking me stuff I'd share with her one on one but not with someone I didn't know.... Jacked up I realize, it's a boundary thing for me, I'm just looking for the right words to use....

Pootie-tang is what makes me giggle. Fluff does too, only because when I was in England, where "getting some fluff" is the same as "scoring some action" and older lady who's B&B we stayed at told us how she asks all her friends traveling to the states to bring her back a jar of "fluff" and she just laughed and laughed. Hell yeah, gimme the fluff recipes you got, baby.

D The beauty of the band is we can stop for a minute or a week or a month and not fall too far. It will be there when our focus gets back. BG You're silly. It's like me, I laugh each time I say Tang. And I'm liking the sugar free Tang again. ugh

Another student rant.
As a 39 year old in school, I'm amazed at how well I do now. Hello, just answer the questions being asked and you get a damn A. Do the work as assigned and the material can't help but go into your brain... But working with youngsters Jacqui, I know exactly what you mean. Group work can be such a challenge...at this point I don't care how controlling I appear to be. It's my grade too. Teachers: You have my sympathies. I'm so not it! But I'm happy you are. Thanks for what you do.

Question on Routine Follow Ups with surgeon
I have to report in every six months for blood work. It will probably move to every 12 after the first couple of years.

BG, Get ass off the brain. I'm really surprised at how much I want to eat the carbs. Bastards. You'd think I was a fast food junky the way I'm craving them. I am being good though. I have to go to the grocery tonight, to get food in the house to feed the child.... She asked to bake brownies this weekend. We will and she'll get to keep two, the rest will have to go to the neighbors, because it's too hard to have them in the house even if I keep them frozen deep in the freezer...

JC Sorry about the pup. It's always hard to lose our pet friends. Just breathe. You are not in competition with anyone to get to your goal today, next week or next month. You've got to do it a pace your body will accept and can handle. Thinking about how close you got only builds feelings of remorse. So stop it. You're on the right path, thinking how far you have come. You are fit and active and dating and well on your way to meeting your goal. As for work and biking, sucks no? But it happens. You'll get out there again and soon. Lucky you, you are not looking at cold ass weather keeping you indoors like the us three northern chicas. The hunger part will go away when you pass out from lack of nutrition! Ha. No, you'll loosen up, try to find something destracting to do. Search dirty pictures on the internest or something. XOXOXO

Called me "Skinny"-grumble
I have a coworker who had gastric bypass a few years ago. She's kept most of her weight off. We talk WLS. I love her. Today, she comes into my office saying, "Hey there Skinny!" and I visable cringed. It had to be discussed, because I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but damn, I don't want to called, "Skinny" either. Not because I'm not or anything like that, but because it's not the sole thing that defines me. I guess I didn't want to be called, "fattie" either. Or, "half way there girl!" Anyone have any insights?

Why are my co-workers so obsessed with food?
Coming to terms with food is the only way out for me. I work in a cafeteria and have spent 20 years manageing different food service businesses. It's a pain! Jacqi speaks the truth.

Dating Question
What Voon said. He ought to be lucky you are giving him an hour of your time. Don't fret about what he'll think of you. Know you'll knock his socks off. If you don't knock his socks off, it wasn't meant to be. Good luck and GO GO GO on that date.
