  1. Hey, I was done at OSU in March. I went to a support meeting last night for the first time and they were all GB! I want to meet up with other local banded people as well. Nice to meet ya, I'm Juli.
  2. Woo Hoo Jenn! I am jealous of you for your group. I'm going to sulk in the corner now.
  3. Golly, I can barely get my ass to a meeting in Columbus. Oh, if it were on a weekend and I was driving north anyway, you know I'd detour! I know there will be a time when I detour north to say howdie just cuz. There are 4 area places one can get a band in this city. I think I need to contact the other hospitals to see what they are doing. My surgeon is really not an advocate for the band. He believes it's workable for about 1 in 10 people and I am one of his 1's. Yesterday I met a woman who wanted the band and he talked her into GB. She'll have surgery next week. When she asked me how I liked my band I told her I loved it. She said maybe because I didn't have as much to lose. She is just under 300#. I said, I was 313#! That was fun, to have to so no really I was SMO. But I said I'm compliant and I exercise like I should, or perhaps even more than I should. She said she needs something to keep her face out of the gallon of ice-cream and has no will power left. I said, rock that GB! But ugh. I want a comrade close by! Boo hoo.
  4. Yeah, I've got another good reason to move to Michigan...
  5. I went to my surgeon's support group tonight. I was the only lapbanded person. I remember now why I had never gone. Pre surgery I was the only lapband person. I spent an hour being told all about mineral and vitamin defincencies. Not it. UGH! I know there are other lapbanded people in Columbus Ohio. I shouldn't have to leave the state to meet other lapbanded people.
  6. I'm going to work out. You all can keep your test tickles and breast tickles to yourselves.
  7. JC look back in June for the page. Wearing a skirt...she didn't say it was all sexy, it could be a 2 sizes too big old wrinkly maxi skirt, with a faded ill matched and stained t-shirt. Oh, wait I'm describing someone I work with!
  8. That link is long gone....I looked but apparently didn't save it.
  9. I was PBing sushi on Sunday as I was driving down the highway. I ran out of the restuarant into my car because I didn't want to be inappropriate in the restaurant. UGH. I should have gone to the toilet there, but I get that glassy I've just thrown up look after a simple PB look and I didn't want them to be suspicious. I go there all the time and I was only one of 3 customers. The guys working were all very chatty.... How happy was I to have a bag in the car. I'm keeping gallon ziplocks in the glovebox for just that reason!!!
  10. I testes a Specialized and wasn't too keen on it. Maybe it was the 'tude of the dude selling me the bike. But I'm happy you are lovin' yours!
  11. blinky ass lights are better than getting mowed over. here's to blinking your ass....
  12. no resistance bands, but I hear they are fantastic. BG, You'll lose those pounds, you will you will you will! D, Shut up. I'm not taking the three dollars I paid for the shirt. (Really!) Good luck with the testing and homework. B, You go dude. Your bike misses you too. But don't OD on it, just because you can. Pace yourself. JC, Hi
  13. JC Are you loving the bike? HP My week is typical. Work, homework and kiddo.
  14. Egg drop soup with no egg, is chicken broth with some fresh ginger, soy sauce and green onion. Skip the green onion too or use onion powder and you can get close. Also you can thicken it a bit with corn starch if you want it a little thicker.
  15. I just leave much of the broth in the pan and eat the good bits. I love soup too. I love making it and sharing it. I tend to go with the Protein veggie kind. Like chicken and white bean. No more noodles, rice or potatoes in my soups. It's perfectly doable.
  16. wtf people... No one has posted since 11:21. I don't think that's allowed.
  17. Glad to make you chuckle. I'm bringing sexy back.
  18. Your mom is my hero too. I mean it's a little harsh to make a middle schooler kid cry by calling her ugly and all (I snicker as I type) but as the mom of a big kid I see me in your momma's shoes. My daughter (6) is and always has been 95th for weight and height. She is big boned and isn't fat but thick as they come. She's a sweetie too so when kids call her stupid her feelings get hurt. Bad, over weight me has always been greatful that there is always one or two kids heavier than her in her classrooms so they can get the brunt of the fat comments. [horrific, no?] I want to tell her she can pound the shit out the mean kids, because she really is strong, but alas... Go momma.
  19. Okay, who do you think you look like? Am I the only one who thinks it's Janet Jackson?
  20. A cross post as per Eddie's request: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was just eating some scrambled eggs at work, at my desk, and the texture was off, too hard, so with out thinking I spit it back on to my plate. I didn’t even think someone might be looking. The second the food hit the plate I look up with a line of spit from my lip still attached to the yucky little pile, just to catch a co-workers’ eye. Nice. That’s right, I might be getting all sexy-fine as another co-worker calls me. But that, that was really hot. I'm so proud.
  21. hey, lets talk about idiotic people.... I have a partner for my class who writes worse than an 8th grader. And I think I need to apologize to the 8th graders of the world. I want to introduce her to spell checker, the comma, and how to use a period to end a thought before she goes on to the next one so you know what she was thinking and not get all confused about what it is she is trying to communicate because its really annoying to figured it out on you're own. Oh yeah, consistent verb tenses and the right use of apostrophes would be a bonus! And on a bulletin board posting for the class she was writing about her "bitch" boss. This is supposed to be communication on a business level. Yes, one can say there are personality difficulties and one can say that they are extreme or unprofessional or any number of ways to say she sucks, but to use profanity is a hugely inappropriate. And then our weekly assignment is we have one of three quotes to choose and analyze and she opts for the shortest ones, because the longer quotes are "too long and too hard." The woman is 43! But who's the bigger dumb ass? I asked her to partner with me because she loves her puppies, and I love dog people. The class on management theory is quickly becoming a class on tolerance.

  23. Like the others said, the first month is hard. After that though, you'll be back at the restaurants and the movies. You'll just not be eating like you used to and you really won't care. Actually you'll be proud not to be eating like you used to. So, come here and share your thoughts and frustrataions...we get it.
