  1. I had many, many stalls. Mine lasted anywhere from 2-4 weeks. It is so aggravating, but the day you get on the scale, and it finally breaks, you will be so happy/relieved.
  2. Ok, so at least you know why you did it. I love to eat also, but after the surgery I find that I can not eat even 1/4 of what I used to eat before. You will learn to stop, even when you don't feel full. I did it, and so can you. I eat a lot slower now. It sucks because my food often gets cold. I sometimes have to reheat in the microwave. You will get used of how your body feels. It takes time. Be patient with yourself.
  3. TY so much. If my body fluctuates after I hit the goal, then so be it. I just want so badly to see the number of my goal on the scale. Even if it is just once!
  4. I want to throw the scale out the window at times. LOL
  5. @catwoman7 Thanks. I needed to hear that. Even though I know it, it is still really tough when I am so close. Hopefully I can reach my goal soon, so I won't be so anxious about it.
  6. Wow, I would have got sick if I did that. I am also so afraid to over eat. Even if I am still hungry, I make myself stop eating. Were you eating for the taste? Were you super hungry that day? Just curious to see the why behind it.
  7. I lose a lb. I gain 2 lbs. I lose 3 lbs. I gain a lb. Up and down, over and over! I am so aggravated. Just the other day I was only 2.5 lbs. to my goal, and I was so excited. Then today, I get on the scale, and I have gained 2.8 lbs.? WTH? I just want to reach my goal so badly. Then after that, if I put on a few lbs. I don't care. It's the actual wanting to just hit the goal weight. It keeps teasing me. I haven't eaten anything I am not supposed to, or increased my portions. I am more active now then I was before. It doesn't make sense. I am so strict with myself, it isn't even funny. UGGGHHHH
  8. Well first of all, your family member isn't be too considerate knowing what you have just gone through. I understand that maybe that is what they are used of eating, but if your only there temporary, then maybe try to at least hide it from you? When I was first out, I was so sick, I couldn't even drink water. When my hubby cooked something, the smell bothered me so much, I had to go outside. I suppose I was lucky in that sense. Now I am close to 7 months out, and hubby still eats foods that I can not. The other night, while watching tv, he was munching on some caramel popcorn, (one of my favs). I was like really, your just gonna sit there and eat this in front of me, knowing that I can't eat it. I had to settle for some raw walnuts, to satisfy my munchies. That being said, I don't expect hubby to not eat what he wants, can, and will in front of me. Most things don't bother me, but certain things do. I just try to eat something healthy instead. It sucks sometimes, but I get over it, knowing that if I eat what he is eating, that I would get sick.
  9. I can't do pain meds at all. They all make me sick. Hubby won't be able to help me much, if at all. He works full time, M-F 9-5, owns a food truck that he does on the weekends from 9-7, and he also flips houses. My parents are elderly, and won't be much help either. I am having doubts that I will be able to have surgery for these reasons. With no one to help me afterwards, my options are very limited.
  10. I personally know of at least 3 different people who had the surgery, and they ALL gained their weight back, and then some. It didn't stop me from having WLS because I know that I am different, and have my mind set up to think differently. My own sister is not supportive of my loss. She has said some nasty things to me. We haven't spoke since Christmas. Just ignore the haters, and move on. People always feel the need to be negative for some reason or another. Don't let it deter your healthy journey.
  11. Awesome!! You look so happy!
  12. Have you tried Yasso frozen Greek Yogurt Bars? They are delicious, and come in many flavors. I eat one almost every night. They have 5-6 grams of protein, only 90-100 calories, low sugar, and carbs. Check them out.
  13. Mine took 10 months for completion. I had to do all the pre requirements, and when I was done, I also had to fight with the insurance company. It would have only taken 6 months otherwise.
  14. Isn't it weird how we actually WANT to clean now? LOL
  15. Reading some of the comments, I can not imagine the pain of having more than one area done at the same time. Plus how did you manage after the surgeries?
  16. Please continue to let us know what happens. I am looking fwd to doing something like this when my year comes up. Only 5 months to go. It is going by so quickly.
  17. I am now able to clean the house. I felt so bad for my hubby. He would work all day, then have to come home, cook, take care of the pets, and clean the house too. The fact that I am able to now help him, is a huge relief off my shoulders. I used to feel so guilty about it.
  18. My hubby is approx. 25-30 lbs. overweight. He has recently lost 20 lbs. just by eating a little bit more healthy. He HATES healthy food, and especially veggies. I love basically all veggies, fruits, healthy foods. Before the WLS he would bring me ice cream, and chocolate every night on his way home from work. It added to my being overweight. Not that I refused it. He eats PB & J sandwiches every night before bed. Something we both used to do. His bad habits, do effect me. I try not to watch him eat the bad stuff.
  19. I freaked out when I was losing my hair. I was losing clumps of it at a time, and would literally cry in the shower. I even resorted to measuring it. I was losing approx. 3-4 grams every time I washed it (every 4 days). It happened in months 3-6. Now I am almost 7 months out, and happy to say that I am not losing anymore. I know it will take a while for it grow back, but that is ok as long as I am not losing. My nutritionist recommended that I start taking Flaxseed Oil 1,000 mg a day, and increase my protein. It worked! She also told me that none of the commercial products work.
  20. You will have to exercise to get to your goal. Ummmm not true. I have not exercised at all due to my ailments, I can not do much physical exercise or I would be in too much pain. I am only 3 lbs. away from my goal, as of this mornings weigh in.
  21. I wanted to try the patches so bad when I was first out. I couldn't even drink water without getting sick. My docs would not let me do it. I literally could not take any vitamins thru mouth until around my 4th to 5th month.
  22. I usually have to let out a huge burp. It just comes out without any warning. It is very embarrassing when people, other than my husband are around.
  23. Sorry for your loss. Good luck with your surgery. It sounds like you have already made up your mind for better health. That is a huge part of it. If you really want it, you will do it.
  24. I am looking for some advice on how to stop losing weight. I just want to maintain. I already increased my carbs, and portions. I never thought I would be asking how to STOP losing weight, LOL. I am just afraid I am looking too skinny now. My face is starting to look old, and drawn out. My collar bone is sticking out, and it doesn't look good.
  25. If I was the one buying all the groceries, and then is also paying for the more expensive protein snacks, I would be pissed too. Did you calmly explain to him that you prefer for him not to eat your "special" snacks. I think if you approach it in the right way, he would understand. If not, then he better kick in some money. LOL Hubby, and I always used to eat off each others plates, and it never bothered me. Now since my WLS we eat separate meals. He doesn't like most of the stuff I eat, so it's not a problem.
