Weak and shakey....still
Make your self a protein shake and sip, sip, sip. Sound like your body needs some fuel.

Drinking With a Straw?
I started using a straw about a week out. I use a really big one, or two little ones. I get more fluid in that way.

On the fence
I was at the point where I was starting to get joint pain and just generally feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. Type 2 diabetes was on the horizon. It was these things that made me decide to go through with it. This has been the most effortless weight loss I've ever had, I can usually fight my way to a 30 pound loss. But now, I would literally have to eat little bits of junk all day, to get around this fantastic tool. But the (empty feeling) stomach hunger is gone, so the motivation to constantly eat is also gone.

3 months post op - discouraged
I have also tried to keep my calories a bit higher. I thought it would keep the hair loss at bay. No such luck, but my loss is pretty steady, stalls included. I am a huge fan of peanut butter, but with the sleeve 1 tsp. on a piece of wheat toast hits the spot. ?

Any tips/tricks for getting all that water in?
Water still hurts if I get carried away. I have a big cup (32oz) that I fill with iced tea 2x a day.

Surgery in Mexico, timeline? Wait till fall, or go for it now?
I actually postponed my original date last October. But everything was booked and paid for. So me and hubby went and enjoyed ourselves. There was a lot of drinking involved. ? So if you are not a huge fan of alcohol, I say go for it!

I killed that d@mn interview!
But I didn't get the job. I have been on a few interviews this month, this is the first one that I thought would be a fantastic fit for me. I got that dreaded call today, "we have chosen another candidate, we'll keep your resume on file blah, blah, blah." I did my recon on the company before the interview, and I noticed not one fatty. So immediately I know they probably won't hire me because Im a not "normal sized". A terrible assumption, but I'll truly never know how many opportunities I missed out on because I'm not thinner. The interview went so well though. ?

Dr and nutritionist on different wavelengths.
Also. Aside from metabolism etc. Protein is heavy, it seems to sit longer and fill you up faster. So it just makes sense long term, to make it the main part of your meals.

You tube
Try searching WLS or the name of the surgery you are getting in the search bar. You can also type a Youtuber's name in the search as well. I currently follow: VSGprettysleeved, SJs Journey, Drea VSG, and faithkp; to name a few.

Soup ideas for liquid phase and fave recipes for puree/soft
I lived on Wonton soup for a week straight. 2oz broth and one wonton smashed up. It was really good.

Body changes
I always told hubby I want new boobs for my 40th. Maybe I'll add a tummy tuck now too. ?

Satisfied with food post op?
I've noticed that I feel full longer now, not Thanksgiving full, just content. It lasts for a few hours. Before surgery I hardly ever felt satisfied. I drink 30 min after eating which probably helps.

Raw Veggies Coming Soon! Cannot wait
I love to eat cauliflower and broccoli with a bit of ranch dip. I can only eat a couple "trees" but it is a yummy little snack with very few calories.

Mental preparation?
You need a therapist and nutritionist ASAP! This is a lifelong commitment, I am an emotional eater and struggle with it daily. Therapy has given me some insight, but when I'm really stressed out, it's hard. You can eat after surgery, you have to make a conscious decision to choose the right thing.

Dating horrors
That was no loss. You just scared a shallow immature little boy away. There are better men out there.

3 months Post Op .... Hair Loss
I have noticed more hair coming out lately, I was hoping to avoid this phase as well. As long as I don't get patchy, I'll be okay. ?

What are you guys eating???
I am with you on this! I always wonder how people get their frozen leftovers to taste better? Piping hot and fresh is the way to go.

Setting myself up for failure?
This is a great question. We all have different reasons for getting as heavy as we did. Everybody seems to have a different idea of what brings long term effective weight loss. Some are successful, some not. I don't want to be on a restrictive lifetime diet. For me, the sleeve is an opportunity to work on different ways to deal with stress and make healthier choices on a daily basis.

Tipping In Mexico? Feedback?
Tipping is a big part of Mexican culture. If you are further down from the U.S. border, tip in pesos. We gave the equivalent of $1-2 U.S. for dining, drinks, cleaning lady, valet etc.

When do you start losing the weight?
I didn't weigh myself for the first week. Now that I am a few months out I notice a pattern, stall for 2-3 weeks, then a decent loss. Don't stress, it will come off.

Self pay/loan
First I would make sure that your score has gone up before you apply for credit. Credit Karma gives you a free score monthly. Next, I would go to Mexico, for literally half of the cost. I paid $5000 plus flight.
