Pre-op pudding allowed, using skim milk ok?
They have Jello, no sugar added pudding, in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, they are only 50 cal each. I suck at making pudding anyway, and for being sugar free, it's delicious!

Phentrimine vs contrave??
Considering drugs is what led me down the WLS path. The side effects can be pretty bad, but I was desperate. I decided on the VSG because I know once you stop taking the drugs, the hunger comes back. Now that I've had VSG, I guess the same thing applies. I still want the bad stuff, and I can still ruin my progress. ?

Did anyone get
I was approved by GWL in Canada, and my surgery was in Mexico.

Nuts, turkey, and chicken come to mind. That's all I got. ?

Drinking to easily?
I thought there was something wrong when I could drink a decent amount after surgery as well. I think all of the research we do beforehand tends to make us think we will struggle as other people did. There are a lot of new sleevers who mention not being able to get even 2-oz down. Too much cold Water makes my stomach unhappy, but other than that drinking has been easy from about 5 days out.

in N.S.......if you had bariatric surgery elsewhere. You're on your own.......if you need any follow-up
We have a revision clinic here in AB. If you don't have one there, maybe you can get referred to this one? I know people come from SK for their surgeries.

Canadians having surgery in Mexico
I went to Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. He did a great job.

How do you manage changing clothing sizes?
Spring is coming ladies! Sun dresses are my favorite thing.

2 week stall ???
You are right on target. I stalled at exactly 2 weeks, I stayed off of the scale for 5 days and lost another 5 lbs.

Worried and confused
I was very similar. I started with plain yogurt on day 5. I have eaten many different things with no problem. Wait until you try cottage cheese or refried Beans. You will find out exactly how much your tummy can hold, it is uncomfortable to eat even 1 bite more.

Popcorn????
I love movie popcorn! I would skip a meal knowing what was waiting for me. Now I'm sad to hear it's a slider food. We hardly ever go to the movies anyways... But the one movie we always go to the theater for is Pirates of the Carribean. And of course there is a new one coming out this summer. I guess maybe I'll have to take a separate portion and not be shoving my hand into the big bag.

Bad stick
I'm a bad stick as well. Nothing grosses me out more than the feeling of someone moving a needle under my skin trying to hit the vein. Maybe ask them to use a butterfly on your hand. This always works best for me.

Please say im not the only one.. struggling!
They have a peanut butter powder that can be added to things, it's called PB2. I got some at Costco, I really haven't tried anything with it yet. I haven't really looked for any good recipes.

So sick of soup!!!!
I ate Wonton soup for lunch for 8 days straight. It is only 50 cal for 2 ounces with one cut up Wonton. So yummy!

Diet Coke
I'm getting close to a month out. Ahhhh I miss diet coke. I have been trying a bunch of different Crystal Light flavors. I think some say yes, and some say no when it comes to fizzy drinks. But 9 days post op would probably be painful.

So disappointed.....
Go back and get your weight done with a few extra clothes layers, at the end of the day, a week before your period starts. ?

Diet Advancement. Question.
I advanced every stage more quickly. I am already eating chicken. I figured protein from real food was probably better than drinking shakes all day. I tried potatoes once, and they were very heavy and uncomfortable.
-
Grams to ounces
Food weight doesn't correlate to how much protein. You have to read the back of the package. You can keep a running tally in your head or use a my fitness pal app to track your numbers.

Medical Leave & Short Term Disability
I just wanted to update this, incase somebody ever comes across it in a search. I brought my GWL paperwork with me to have it filled out. Dr. Joya also included a description of the surgery, pics of the surgery, and an itemized bill. My STD was approved for 4 weeks. I will also be submitting this paperwork for a partial refund from provincial healthcare.

Gum
I haven't had any issues with gas while chewing gum.

Therapy after sleeve
It was always part of my plan. I just didn't know how intense the head hunger would be. I have had no issues so far. I am already eating solids. I had 1/2 chicken breast for lunch today. But from a lot of the experiences shared here, I thought the first month was going to be horrid. It wasn't, and I love junk food but I have stayed away.
