  1. Yes! I have a pair of "goal jeans" from 2002, that are a size 15. I can't quite zip them yet. I am now buying newer pants in size 10 - 14. It's weird, I keep taking the wrong size to the dressing room.
  2. Are you tracking your food and weight with an app? I use My Fitness Pal to track everything. I started noticing after a few months of constant loss, that I gain a few pounds during ovulation every month. Being ravenously hungry is also another sign that Aunt Flo is coming to visit soon.
  3. I got my VSG done in Puerto Vallarta. Everything went well. But, I chose this route after first looking into what my options were in Canada. I wish I had more prep before I got the surgery, everything I know came from internet research. This surgery is not a quick fix, you have to learn how to make lasting lifestyle changes and deal with any mental/emotional issues that come up when all you can do is drink your calories for the first few weeks. I highly recommend jumping through the hoops before you consider Mexico.
  4. You should be able to eat berries. I had pumpkin seeds on Halloween.
  5. At least two weeks is optimal. I planned for four weeks, but had to return to work earlier.
  6. Initially I would wait two weeks. I weigh myself daily, first thing in the morning. Weighing myself is one of the first things I used to stop doing, when I started gaining. I want this time to be different.
  7. There really is no way to stop it. The surgery causes your follicles to go into a resting phase.
  8. Don't be discouraged. I've read that it is usually slower the second time around. This time focus on making healthy, lasting change to your eating habits.
  9. I have little one too. We eat alot of chicken now. I didn't really freeze much. But I've got cheese sticks, yogurt, shaved black forest ham, Whisps, and vegetarian vegtable soup on hand all of the time.
  10. Yes. I had my first attack about 6 months after VSG. I had it removed shortly after. I don't have any issues.
  11. I did it a few times. Refried beans sat really heavy in my stomach.
  12. Why did we dig this crusty old thread up? Looks like almost a decade had gone by. We are the parasites, and earth is the host. Global warming is either part of the natural ebb and flow, or the beginning of the end. Arguing is pointless. Just do your part, or don't. Death is inevitable...?
  13. I think the better you are at sticking the plan, and making it a long term lifestyle change, the more weight you will lose.
  14. I am 9 months out, and I didn't fill my script for 3 days. By day two the heartburn was waking me up at night. I have never really had heartburn prior to this surgery.
  15. Your best bet is soy, and other types of beans. Milk and cheese also have quite a bit of protein.
  16. You will be able to eat, that is a wls myth. I enjoy a wide variety of foods, I am also not happy because I was not prepared for the realization that this was just a 6 month head start. My healing went too well. I wanted it to be hard, I wanted to be able to go all day without being hungry, I wanted to be disgusted by the sight of food, I wanted to be 9 month out and still only able to get 2oz. down. None of that happened for me, my long term success is now 100% related to my relationship with food. That is what we all need to focus on before, and during the honeymoon phase. Good luck on your surgery!
  17. I loved the ricotta bake, but the rest of the family didn't. My spin off is meatballs with marinara and mozza. Everybody loves it.
  18. I eat an Oikos lemon meringue yougurt for my morning snack. Yummy! There are tons of different yogurt flavors out there.
  19. Absolutely true! I have taken measurements and pics every month.
  20. My loss started at around 4 months, and tapered off at around 7 months. I think I've lost roughly half of my hair, and now I've got little inch long whispies all over the place. I don't have any patches, you can just see a little more scalp through the hair.
  21. Noodles taste like paste. I used to love getting Shanghai noodles. And french fries taste like cardboard.
  22. I have been experimenting with light Marg but it turns it to mush. I also air pop, maybe I will try some coconut oil... Microwaved popcorn tastes terrible now.
  23. I am currently eating popcorn as a snack every night. I miss feeling full and I guess eating in general. I have stalled my weight loss for the past two months with my little nightly ritual. I could easily lose 10-20 more pounds if I laid off... Popcorn is a slippery slope. ?
