  1. Hey girl, glad to see you back! Congrats on the weight loss. I was just banded 6 days ago but I want a nice elliptical machine at home. I am also going to start walking and then spinning classes.
  2. Its an interactive video game. I want a Wii and a wii fit. That would be way more productive than playing my son's psp!
  3. Linus has been very good to you!
  4. I felt the same way. Try straining chicken noodle Soup or campbells soup at hand. That's what I did and it was way more delicious. I couldn't stand the smell of broth, even Emeril's.
  5. Hi Choosie. Its a pleasure to meet you. You will find a lot of support here. It seems that there are a lot of Texas ladies here and even mor from the south. I am fyom bham born and raised but I am not familiar with sand mountain. Anywhoo I look forward to reading your posts.
  6. hey girl, I haven't seen the issue yet. Listen don't worry about what people think. Monique did what is best for her and now you are doing what's best for you. I hope that she is successful long term. I know I have gained and lost the same 30 pounds the past 7 years. So keep your head up and do you. Besides you do realize that there was probably a tad bit of photoshop involved in her cover pic. I ain't hating, I swear ...
  7. hmmm... I had a #2 day 2 after surgery. It is now day 5 and I haven't had another one since. Maybe I'll drink some warm apple juice.
  8. indigogirl you look Great! Your weightloss is such an inspiration. I love love love fashion so I can't wait until the day comes when I can post my own fashion show. Thanks for sharing.
  9. way to go hhuckle! Have you lost 25# since surgery? Or is that including preop diet?
  10. way to go hhuckle! Have you lost 25# since surgery? Or is that including preop diet?
  11. Our girl Yettia survived Gustav. Now lets say a little prayer for Southerngirl. She is in Houston and I don't know if she evacuated. Alright Diva let us know that you are ok as soon as you get a chance.
  12. "Dear diary, recent events have led me to believe that some people can't take a hint. I don't want to address them much less any issues that they may present, factual or otherwise. It is good to see that some of my sentiments ( attack the issues) from my earlier posts have caught on. However, I can't help but ask the age old question " how do you shoo a fly?" Thanks Diary for listening.
  13. You are allowed to do what you want. Just as I am allowed to comment on people that try to pick a fight in every situation. Now there I go opening the door to a confrontation- how do I fall for such tricks?! :April backs out of the door slowly while looking for an innocence bystanding poster to throw out in front on her as a diversion :
  14. indigogirl I totally understand what you meant by the post that you directed towards ME. Unfortunately it was hijacked in an attempt to discredit someone else. Some people will look for a fight even in the midst of peace and understanding. As I said in an earlier post-" lord have mercy ." BTW indigogirl I wish I was financially able to donate to charity a fraction of what each candidate has given. God bless the giver. Period.
  15. absolutely. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime! I can't wait for the debates as well. Although I have to admit watching the ladies tear mccain a new one on the view was great post op recovery entertainment. I now envy stay st home moms ( with lipstick of course) they get to see all of the daytime action!
  16. It's the morning of day four and things feel better. I am not in as much pain or as gassy. I am actually at the hair salon. I was kinda worried about coming this morning. But I blended some roasted corn chowder and packed it away in my cute pink metal Stanley thermos. I also have some v8 splash. That should keep me satisfied until I get home. I know that I am not getting enough Protein. That's probably why I am so hungry. I am going to work on that today. I have several mixes that I am going to try out. Ttyl. Btw. I am thinking about starting a blog. Any suggestions? I know lexy has a fierce one!
  17. I have heard great things about carols daughter. But I have never used it. I bought some raw shea butter preop. I can't wait to start using something because my largest incision looks like it is going to keloid. Let us know how the cd works.
  18. That is probably the most awesome story that anyone has ever shared on this site! Congratulations and my prayers are with you.
  19. I have lost 5 also. I am thinking that as I go from Clear liquids to full liquids it may slow down a bit
  20. Although we may not always agree on politics, I do share your some of your sentiments.
  21. I have read about BCBS of IL on the message boards. I am so sorry that this process is difficult for you. Especially in light of the personal issues that you have had to deal with in the past 3 years. File the appeal! Don't let them take the fight out of you. I read somewhere that they hope that you give up so that they don't have to pay. Also, go ahead and register for school. That will help you to stay busy while the appeals is being processed. I will be praying for you. Please keep us posted or just vent if you feel the need.
  22. Thanks ladies for checking on me! The gas is moving south-yippee! My calf was achy and crampy yesterday so the doc asked me to come in. They looked at it under ultrasound and didn't see any clots. They told me to get my liquids in and drink orange juice for potassium. So I have been downing the OJ and the leg feels better. Drinking is easier since the gas is passing and now I know what hunger pains feel like. I ordered some coconut Soup to go from the Thai restaurant and added Water to ward off the spice. Yummy to my new little tummy. This morning I am drinking Campbell's cream of chicken and herb soup mixed with a can of water. My tummy likes that too. I hope that I will be able to return to work on Monday as planned. Thanks sistas again for checking on me. You all are truly an important part of my recovery. BTW, I am watching the View and they are ripping Senator McCain a new one! Holla!
  23. Hi Breanna: I would say get a copy of your insurance coverage / guidelines. Make sure that you meet these guidelines then go to a seminar. After the seminar make a consultation visit with the surgeon. Usually at that point the insurance coordinator will advise you on your next steps.
  24. Thanks for joining the forum! I am African American but I want this forum to represent all women of color. I look forward to reading your posts. Holla!
  25. Way to go! See you soon in band land
